to simplify matters (and this is applicable to any and all "media" or even opinion):
1) the information/report/rumour benefits the canucks - this means that it is honest, good and valuable information.

2) the info hurts the canucks - the person is obviously a basement dwelling nerd who knows nothing and/or an eastern media elite and/or troll.
