Hearing #NYR have made significant progress with newly acquired forward Barclay Goodrow.
Not finalized. Expectation is Goodrow will be a Blueshirt once the signing moratorium is lifted with a 6-year deal in $3.6m AAV range.

I was just joking. I actually like when someone can acknowledge when something is potentially a bad idea. |

Actual money owed over the rest of the deal is minimal. He was due a $3M bonus and $1M salary over the last two years of the deal and I think I saw the Isles had already paid $1M of his bonus for this year. So he's only due $7M over the remainder of the deal and Arizona desperately needed draft picks and had to get to the cap floor.
I like Goodrow as a player but that AAV is about $1M high for my taste, if not more. Normally I'd crap on the term, but I think the exact same thing is going to happen with Cizikas. |

I somewhat agree, I don't see how his salary goes up that much with the current cap constraints. But I guess if the Rangers are going to publicly state what they are looking for and a player knows they fit the bill they can bend the Rangers over a barrel a little. |

@EvolvingWild model had four years at $3.15 mil. If go six, price expected to rise slightly. Market clearly will bear this given rumors of six years. Hope is cap rises enough at back end so smaller % of the overall. Not ideal but not unexpected. If four years, $4.5 mil or so |

I just think he’s a solid 4th liner that benefitted from playing with Gourde and Coleman. |

Is their model based on actual on ice value or perceived value? |

Well now he might get the chance to benefit from playing with the likes of Panarin etc. |

It does seem a little high but hopefully it looks better on the backend. Either way he seems like the right kind of guy to have around. |

Yeah but some are theorizing he could be an energy/puck retrieval guy higher up in the lineup. I don't know how to feel about that but we'll see what happens. A sort of Jesper Fast 2.0. |
