From my standpoint, I would take Gourde over Palat just due to position. Hardest spot I had filling out was C. Both would be great pick-ups. I wonder if Francis will make life hard on TB and pick someone like Colton, then try to leverage the others away afterwards.

I think he will. Probs the best way to go about it

If you feel 5/30 = 40%, maybe sports betting wouldn't be your thing either. Still, drafting 5 goalies doesn't make much sense unless the expectation is there will be a market to flip 1 or 2, or the assumption is that Bishop isn't ready for a significant period of time. Having a ton of extra D or F doesn't make a pile of sense either, as the Kraken will be running on a shared farm team the first season.

Lots of ppl forgetting Foote has been exposed by TBL too.

While Palat and Gourde are available (I'd take Palat over Gourde), I'd eventually take Foote in the end. Well worth it if Seattle wants to invest in a solid defensive core (what I'd strive for).

Landy*-Johansen-Eberle
N. Neiderreider-McCann-Hinostroza
Zucker-Domi-J.Gauthier
Drouin-Phillips-K. Lind
Eakin

Dunn-Larsson
Butcher-Demelo
H.Fleury-Foote or Zboril

Dreiger
Bishop
Kahkonen
Vanacek

*Landy exposed by COL. Pick and sign to 8.5-9m max term. Overpayment, yes (especially term; seems to be the main issue with current negotiations with COL), but if it means landing a stellar piece for the top 6 for the long term, it's well worth it.

Actual lineups and pairings are subject to change based on what would work (chemistry, etc). Maybe see Zucker play RW pushing Hino down while one of Gauthier/Lind play LW if possible (Drouin bumped up to the third line).

Abramov, Lizotte, Rubtsov, Gambrell, Chowlowski, Saarijarvi, and Zboril (or Foote) in the Minors/affiliated leagues.

Cap compliant and meets all expansion draft criteria (according to CapFriendly).

Gourde may be the choice simply because he’s a Center and there aren’t many good ones available.

Anyone giving Landeskog more than the 7x7 Colorado offered is nuts. He isn’t even worth that much and that long.

That would make sense as I did have difficulty addressing centre depth without taking Gourde.
Not to mention Domi usually plays on the wing, same with McCann and even Phillips. Only true centre there is Johansen. However, passing up on Foote especially if Seattle wants to prioritize on building a solid defensive core would be tough. Even then, another possible centre option that could be had in a side deal with Tampa is Johnson. Pry Foote and Johnson (no salary retained). Albeit not the same caliber as Gourde, Johnson still bolsters the centre depth for Seattle. Thinking in lines of a solid middle 6 option.

As for Landy. Yep, 100% agree that anything above a 7x7 is an overpayment but I think overpaying to land Landy would help make Seattle competitive from the start (as is in line with what Francis wants). Gives Seattle a stellar player for their top 6. Last few years may suck but it'll be well worth it for the first 5 years (being a bit pessimistic here and assuming play drops after that). After that, it'll be the only "bad" contract on the books if Francis doesn't go crazy in FA.
