As we await what SEA decides with Carey Price, word is that the Kraken are closing in on FLA’s Chris Driedger at 3x$3.5M. I dont believe that precludes them from selecting Price, but one goalie appears locked-in.
Spending $14M of cap space on two goaltenders would be a bad start - eichiefs9
That depends on who you ask. If they put themselves in cap trouble early, it could help someone else. |

Well I mean a bad start for the franchise
I have a hard time buying that they are serious about selecting Price. That contract is terrible. |

Couldn’t agree more. No way I see them taking that on.
Edit: then again, if another team was interested, they could select him and flip him. But I don’t see anyone wanting that contract. |

Barclay Goodrow's stat line before joining the #nyr 331GP 32G 61A for 93P
Leo Komarov's stat line before joining the #isles
327 GP 52G 70A for 122P
This contract is objectively awful. - niteislander
Funny thing is when I saw the Rangers where in on Goodrow and I was talking about how good of a move it was for them I was confusing him with Gourde. True story |

it's an aggressive contract for sure but it's not like Bobrovski where he isn't playing up to the contract.
One of the top 3 goaltenders in the league.. Wife from Seattle I believe. They have to spend at least 60% of the 81.5 mill. If he actually need surgery they can move him next summer when he is healthy or at the Trade deadline of 2023. unless they have everyone they are taking written down and it doesn't fit under the cap.. they should take him for sure. |

funny that all my friends that are Ranger's fans have been chirping for years to me about how we pay our 3rd and 4th line guys too much money and they are about to give Goodrow 6 year deal for 3.6 a year.

How much would Florida love a do over on that Bob Contract.. Dreidger and Knight would have been a great tandem for a LOT less $$

The cap floor is $60.2m. So they have to spend at least that much. |

I would be very upset if Beau was moved. He gives 100% every shift... love the kid. - niteislander
I am a huge fan as well.
I Don’t see that happening at all. Zero chance unless he asks for a ridiculous number which I don’t see happening in the current environment. |

My guess would be that he’s in on the first offer they make him. I’m sure he sees how close they are to a a cup and wants in on it. |

Agreed, if they take him they are crazy. As you said that contract sucked then and with the freeze it only exaggerates it’s shattiness now |
