If Howden being our 4C last year is what did us in, then we were done anyway. Yet we still discussed it a ton. It's not a franchise altering deal but it's worth discussing and you can be disappointed by it without overreacting

My point was he's saying that in the grand scheme of things, $3.6M isn't a huge deal and won't be the downfall of the franchise. Similarly, Howden being the 4th line center wasn't a huge deal and wasn't the downfall of this team. Just because something isn't a "huge deal" doesn't mean you can't have an opinion on it. It's not apples and oranges, I'm not comparing the two players I'm comparing the discussion around the two.

I'm not the end all be all on what is deserving of discussion on Hockeybuzz, but Goodrow is a good player. NYR needs a player of his ilk. Paid a premium. Let's move on
