well Karine, sorry but seems like I was right all along on that one.
no GM would gamble losing his star player to keep his back up. that simply doesn't make any sense.
it had to come from Carey who wants out, and his GM had no choice but to let him unprotected. there's no other explanations.
I for one will certainly not blame MB if Carey ends up with SEA.

Driedger and Price would be a hell of a tandem for their inaugural year but Price will end up a very expensive backup if he loses the net..

As I said yesterday, and will continue to say until the picks are done, if Price goes, I am OK with that.

MB likely sees Weber as done, so if he wants to put a reset in place with lots of cap room (which most other teams will not have), then letting Price go might be the best option.

I suspect the decision about Price is already known / done and that MB is aware of what will happen and what his options are going to look like.

His SV% was an awful .901, ranked 42 among elligible goalies (even Jake Allen was better). His contract is one of the worst in the NHL and it would be a blessing if Seattle takes him. But because he gets hot for a playoff run suddenly he's irreplaceable. Try making decisions on facts rather than emotion.
