We’ll see I guess, but I didn’t want to jump at that kind of conclusion without knowing... So you don’t buy that Price just wants to make sure Allen isn’t selected?

People, I mean riskiest in Bergevin’s exec career so far...please use common sense

I think there is a chance that they pick him because of the home connection and the fact that he’s already a big thing over there not only because of his NHL career but his junior one. I wouldn’t bet anything on them picking him but we cannot say that’s impossible.

- Karine Hains

Hi Karine, not sure about that risk... Did anyone ever made a calculation showing how much did cost the team for every win Price gave us in past 3 years with his big contract and how this compares to other over $5M goalies in the leagues?

$ per win...

In my opinion, Price who was super solid in past playoffs is just too expensive and his only value premium is linked to his potential marketing impact on a new franchise...

Is there any team who would take him for free in the league? I don't think so...

Wednesday will be a very interesting day! For normal habs fan and for all the conspirationists!!!

I know he has several downsides with the injury history and the contract and yet, my mind refuses to think that this isn't really tempting for Seattle. I mean they saw how vital a big goalie can be to the marketing of a new franchise with Fleury in Vegas and what better way to have their own success story than to imitate a proven receipe. Am not saying they pick him for sure, but it's a possibility. Perfect end to a rollercoster of a year for the Habs, they sure kept us on our toes lol

The main temptation in taking Price for ownership likely has more to do with jersey sales and face of the franchise type stuff. Price brings immediate credibility and gives the fans an initial star to get behind. That to me is the temptation more than the hockey related stuff (I think fans forget the business side of things too often, not realizing it's sports entertainment and a business, not pure sport)

If Price goes, Weber goes and Drouin goes, as of now the Habs would have about $36m in cap space...so get ready for arm chair gm suggestions (all of which will be grounded in reality)

I loved it. Had a great time and made a poopty pandemic spring all the better. But now it's over and time to move on. I've learned to appreciate the past but to avoid being sentimental about it too. Whatever team Montreal ices next season will be vastly different

Most of us were preaching for a rebuild a few years ago, MB decided to go with the reset, building around a few older players to try to win it all. They tried and were3 wins away from lifting the cup.

They unexpectedly have a chance to complete the reset without those "bad" contracts around. If someone said they would potentially be starting next season without Price, Weber, Drouin and Tatar in October 2021,nobody would have believed that person.

They get to continue with their reset without upsetting Price and Weber who were looking for a good kick at the cup, they got it.

Now will Perry still want to sign if Price and Weber are gone....that I am not sure.

Yeah but none of this is done yet.
We'll see. And remember this team played well under the cap for years.

I really really hope Price is not selected by the SeaKrak.....Take Drouin..take Fleury if you must Seattle...but Price is an elite goalie when healthy...we saw his value this year in the playoffs....Allen is very good, but he isn't Carey price...few are.

and Danault is gone, he wants a top 2 center and the Habs can't guarantee him that role, that means he get PP time.

I say he signs with Seattle for 6yrs at 5.75M/yr

short term I agree, medium and long term....I disagree, this is most likely the last chance they have to drop this anchor of a contract.

forgot they could do that. Would be a better move than fleury or anything they would pull.

Then again, they will need contracts like Fleury. They can't just have big deals like Tarasenko.

center is the weakest position with the players exposed for the expansion draft and it is also a weak position for UFA's.

Other than Danault....Seattle will also pick up Gourde....and guess what, Danault and Gourde played together in Jrs.
