The Rangers are rumored to be trading Ryan Strome to the Senators for their 1st rounder then using that pick in a package for Eichel.
If I were the Senators, I'd want more than just Strome in exchange for the 1st rounder.
Also, for all you Tkachuk fans, the Flames are actively shopping Matthew but their asking price is through the roof. - Theo Fox
If you're going to overspend, that wouldn't be a bad player to do it on.

From various reports:
Laine has received a qualifying offer of one year at $7.5M and he's likely going to accept it.
Kaprizov has been offered an 8-year deal but he wants 3 years for a bridge so he can cash in even more later. The Wild could counter with somewhere in the middle but there's a KHL team supposedly offering a lucrative contract to lure him back home.
The number of teams vying for Eichel has significantly dwindled to just 2 teams as most have dropped out today due to the high asking price (and concerns over his health status). |

That’s what they do, and why I don’t like gambling high draft picks on them. |

That's one reason why I appreciate Hawks Russian draft picks like Altybarmakian over Shalunov, Kayumov, and Nalimov. Altybarmakian jumped immediately at the opportunity to cross the pond when his original KHL contract was up.
The others have stayed in Russia despite some verbal statements saying that they want to come to North America but then they backtrack or renege. Even if they come over, there's a chance they get lured back home.
It also helps that Altybarmakian is the most exciting of the bunch. He's a team player who is almost Shaw-like in doing whatever it takes to compete and win. Small but feisty with no fear to take on everyone and anyone. |

In a final draft preview blog on Friday morning, I'll have my final prediction for the Hawks 1st round pick. My latest selection has been Lucius but will say I'm starting to lean back toward who I had pegged from the start: Sillinger.
Ricochet had a great post about Sillinger's skating. I would agree with how he characterized it: Sillinger may not have perfect technique but he gets the job done. His assets make up for a shortcoming like this.
I also agree on Wise being a surprise prospect to rise from the ashes. Finish his NCAA career then spend 2 years in the AHL before knocking on the NHL door. - Theo Fox
I also would be happy with a Cole Sillinger selection.

Per Andy Strickland:
PK Subban on the move again? #NJdevils looking for a taker for the former Norris winner. One more year left on contract. Heavy cap hit.
Told “if” Seattle drafts Vladimir Tarasenko it will not be his final destination. #stlblues
Expect Montreal to pick talks back up from last off-season with Mike Hoffman. Chose to sign with #stlblues over the #Gohabsgo even tho Montreal offered close to a million more dollars. STL has expressed interest in bringing him back. |

Ya Sillinger has grown on me his skating does not sound as bad as others and he brings a lot more to the game . I still believe if the goalies are there at 11 the Hawks will select one of them . |

Would gladly take Mr Subban and the #4 pick for Vegas 2nd. Or PK and the #29 for a 4th.

I am calling it now….. the Kraken draft Tarasenko and flip him to the Rangers for a first in next years draft. Then the Rangers move Strome, Deangelo, their first this year, their 2nd next year and the rights to Buchnevich to Buffalo for Eichel and a 2nd or 3rd round pick. |

If Tarasenko was worth a 1st, the Blues would have traded him for one.
That offer for Eichel is terrible. |

I should've had a write-in slot for who cares, Shawn Lalonde, Mathis Olimb, Jean-Yves Leroux, or some unknown player. |
