Thats pretty stupid. If they love the player they can’t risk trading down. He could go anywhere from 6-15

I am never a fan of the trade down but I don't get involved because they never happen unless later rounds.

It’s absurd if you are moving down a couple spots. Who cares about consensus rankings, especially in the most volatile draft in decades. Sillinger could end up a better player than Eklund. It would not be surprising. If you feel strongly about a player when you have a top 10 pick grab him

From LeBrun at The Athletic:

• The Canucks think they’ve got a decent shot of moving defenceman Nate Schmidt over the next week or two. There are blue-line needs all over the league. I wonder if Boston would make sense? For the Canucks, this is about redistributing some money under the cap from the blue line to the forward group; Vancouver is on the lookout for a pair of top-nine forwards this offseason.

Just what the Canucks need, more forwards and less defencemen

Petey not going to be healthy for the start of the season?

Canucks probably shouldn't be looking for top 9 forwards anymore. Those spots should be filled internally with the likes of the ones they have been developing.

Wasn’t there already an 8 x $5 on the table from Toronto? Not that I care, but that would be a Richard move to take the same money somewhere else…

I thought there was a rumor that TO had offered that and he turned it down.

Anyway, nice, Edmonton continues to make mistakes

I mean, if they're thinking of going with JTM as the 3rd line center, I guess I see why they want 2 top 9 forwards...?

X Petey Boes
Pears Bo Hoglander
X JTM Podkolzin

But their D would be so massively underwhelming.. somehow worse than the last couple seasons.

I agree, Francis will have a tough time, it seems that he is trying to lower expectations with his media releases.

You’ve been missed, although I liked the Eeyore avatar a bit more,

- Makita

Sadly Eeyore has died after losing a long hard fought battle with decapitation. I blame Donna.

That can’t be true or it’s a massive troll attempt that would make Elliotte proud. Canucks were one of the worst defensive teams last season. I have to believe the GM and coach know that. I would assume that this year’s focus has to be rebuilding the defence.

Yeah the two top 9 forwards seems either old or made up by Lebrun. JD is clearly one of those top 9 players.
