I'd love to take a stab at vlad t - he's russian (JB wants) and only 29 and could bounce back. Do 25% retained and send them a mid/late draft pick. Or send them JV as well.

Last time out the Golden Knights came out of the expansion process with 3 top-15 picks in the first round of the 2017 NHL Entry Draft.
Two of those picks were the centrepieces of deals for Pacioretty and Stone.
Where's the beef for the Kraken?
Carolina going to need to draft better than Vegas has. |

I was exploring the idea of a trade revolving around Voracek and Schmidt. |

True, could do JTM top line and Hog on third line with Pod - just want them to have a better distributing C.
I like taresenko more than voracek but that could work as well. |

If we’re looking at taking on any old guy with a big contract, it has to be someone known for their skating like a Mike Gardner type, otherwise they’re just too slow. |

Will be nice for the first few years, but Holland knows he'll be on a beach or in a cabin somewhere so he won't have to worry about when it gets ugly - Nucker101
Kyprios was on the radio yesterday saying - when GMs sign those big UFA deals, that seem a year or two too long, most times it's understood that the player will age out or be infective and won't be playing in the last few years. So it's to be expected that they will LTIR or retire early. He said it's basically a mutual understanding and they don't seem to worry about it too much....
sounds like a bunch of commie gobbledygook to me. |

I think we probably have a bit of a different value on Holtby and those D men. - manvanfan
Lauzon and Saucy are good bottom pairing, low end top 4 players and Holtby is a below average backup. Do you disagree? |

I think Seattle will trade one or both of them based on how many defenseman they drafted |

I could see that, I just don't think Holtby can fetch that type of value. |

I wouldn't think so either, but wasn't there a ton of reports saying he had a ton of interest from other teams? Every time I think their isn't value on a player, he gets traded for either peanuts compared to what I thought, or a team paid way more than I thought lol. |

I like to stack the top 2 lines because they play the most, as long as the bottom 6 isn't getting caved in horribly nightly.
I think I prefer Voracek because he is healthier.

Jakub Voracek GP200 G41 A124 PTS165 -14 0.83 EVP122 PPP43 S%9.2 TOI 17:39
Production for the two players over the past 3 seasons. Pretty damn even
Boeser is right behind them sorted PPG. |

haha you'd hope right? But realistically JB wouldn't pull it off. Actually, straight up wouldn't be bad IMO, we get rid of mouthy McGee, get a decent 3rd line guy to play with D$ck and Pod?? and save a bit of cap. |

Do you think a 3rd pairing defender is worth more than a back up goaltender?
David Riitch was traded for a 3rd round pick. Holtby is better than him. Jordie Benn was traded for a 6th. |

Malloy the scouting guy said scouts see things as
elite/generational player
top pairing defender
first line forward
top 4 defender
top 6 forward
Debrusk if he's a top 6 forward he's a number 6 like Pearson. Schmidt in the right circumstances is probably still a top 4 defender. Probably a 3/4. He did prop Edler up to make his numbers look way better last season.
factor in age and contract situation. I would feel like I need a 4th round pick because Debrusk has pretty well declined since he came into the league 4 years ago and Schmidt hasn't declined as much as Debrusk.
Wow I overthought this. my bad. |

24 hours between when the trade freeze lifts and 1st round of the draft. It's going to be a wild 24 hours. |
