For me, lot of young promising players, but they don't have an established first line like Smith-Karlson-Marchessault. Gourde, Appleton and co. are nice additions, but not first line players. Although they will be a good young team in a few years, I see them lacking firepower. They could make some trade and sign some UFAs however.

a bit surprised by a few picks. and a lot of cap space left.

I'd like to see the estimated current cap hit. Imagine there are side deals and FA plans but looks thin as of now

I could see them capitalizing on free cap space and taking someone like Tyler Johnson for assets.

the comparisons with VGK will be inevitable, but I doubt they come close to having the same sort of immediate success (unless they have a couple of huge surprises still up their sleeve)

not many people had predicted he'd be scoring goals as he did

You are right, but for me it's unlikely the same scenario repeats itself and that young undervalued players break out like they did in Vegas. I mean Yanni Gourde is a good player, but he won't score 40 paired with Jordan Eberle.

Maybe it's not out yet, but I did not hear that any team made a deal with Seattle for them to not select a certain player. That's where Vegas added a big portion of their assets.

well, maybe a few but now we basically have the whole frickin' roster, so might as well have Bettman do a show and juggle with pucks or something instead of the expansion draft

agree

Francis said something about the value of cap space
