this is also my analysis of the situation even though I have no insider information. It was a gamble to keep both Allan and Price, and I think both Bergevin and Price were at ease with both scenarios, even though they might have calculated that Price moving was less probable.

Loosing Cale Fleury and Alexei Emelin to the expansion drafts is good asset management imho, even if I was interested in seeing Fleury becoming our 3rd pairing RHD.

The only thing i wonder is if we’ll see a trade announced between the two teams kind of ransom not to take price, that would be announced tonight as well

Habs need to sign Danault at 5.5M$ he is worth it. much better 5.5M$ invested than having Drouin at that price. (get rid of Drouin)
