Eberle had consistency issues but still leaves a pretty big hole on that top line. It’ll cost a bunch to fill it. |

After Pelech, Beau & Sororkin sign, they have enough to re-sign Cizikas & Palmieri and go after Parise & Sutter |

I’m sure this has been discussed but once we sign Pelech, Beau and Sorokin, what do you think we left? - potvin05
Probably around 12 mil or so |

I'm really not all that excited about the idea of adding Parise. Ideally he'd be at the veteran min. of $750k |

Hearing the same, that Seattle has taken Jordan Eberle from the Isles in expansion
Arthur Staple @StapeAthletic
now
Our @PierreVLeBrun confirms that Jordan Eberle is the Kraken pick from the #Isles list.
We won't find out until tonight whether there's a draft pick going along so that SEA took Eberle, with three years at $5.5m AAV left.
#Isles open up a ton more cap space with this move. |

If you do all that you’re still no better than last year. Maybe even a bit worse. |

I'd call next season a success if they make their 3rd consecutive trip to the conference final |

Lee back for a full year. Palmieri is an upgrade over Eberle. Parise is an upgrade over Komarov and Suter is an upgrade over Leddy, but yeah they'll probably be worse

You'd be taking back a not-insignificant salary, otherwise there's no way they're fitting his cap hit |

Yeah I get that 3 rounds is damn good. But none of those moves put the Isles over the top IMO. I’d love to see a Knights/Isles final next year! |

North of what 20 million free’d up with arguably the best GM in the league. Yeah he’s not gonna upgrade. Sidenote : the isles took the bolts to within one goal which coulda gone either way WITHOUT their captain, top line LW, PP1 net presence |

They'd have probably made the final at least once in the last two years if they didn't run into the Tampa buzzsaw. Tampa won't be the same team and really nobody else in the East is any sort of guarantee to beat them.
Not claiming they'll be anyone's preseason favorite to win the Cup, but they've done a pretty good job of stuffing the skepticism right down everyone's throat the last three years. |

Well, if it's indeed Eberle, then all the best to him. He and Barzal were a lethal duo for a while there. But, while I couldn't imagine saying this four years ago, better Eberle than Bailey. |

Saves an extra 500k in cap space. Not saying that's a massive win or anything, but it's a small extra bonus.
I hope they didn't have to give up any big asset to steer Francis towards Ebs. |

Yeah, it's a better story if Lou just stood up and said, "You get nothing extra, Seattle. Make your pick. We can take it." |

I don’t see why we’d have to do that. Eberle is more than a capable player and on a team with no cap issues whatsoever he’s a great add at a decent salary. |

Hopefully nothing was given or something minor. Best to luck to Eberle but this is good for the Islanders. |

After all the Price chatter, which Habs player actually got taken?
And, I still can’t believe the Pens exposed Tanev. That’s a big hit for then imo |
