What, if any, hotels are close to the new arena? - Isleshockeyman
They are building one on sight but that won’t be completed for a few years.
Nicest hotel about 4 miles away is The Garden City Hotel. There is also a residence Inn about 4 miles away. |

Cool. Thank you sir. I’m working on making a weekend trip to catch a game there this season. No clue which one yet. |

Looks like Lou and co did pretty well in draft for not having a 1st.
Also, was wondering why there haven’t been any free agent signings and now realize it doesn’t open until 7/28. Would be nice to lock up our own RFA/UFA’s though sometime soon. |

If I’m not mistaken, teams can sign their own free agents. Just can’t sign other teams free agents. |

Friedman predicting Tarasenko ends up going to the Isles or NJD, for whatever that's worth |

Maybe. They have the cap space to accommodate him and the ability to lose some draft capital and prospects and/or younger players. Not sure he'll accept a trade there though, that's the kicker.
I am sure he'd accept a trade here, but not as confident that the Isles have or would part with the pieces it'd take to get him. Might cost us Beau. |

Tarasenko is finished. Only a moron would trade for him. |

I wouldn’t offer the Blues a roster forward. Picks and prospects maybe, but nothing significant unless Armstrong is willing to retain salary. After all, the Blues don’t exactly hold the high ground in this situation. |

I'm not sure exactly what else we could give them or how we'd fit Beau's new deal, if Lou ultimately did acquire him. Have to imagine Dobson/Wahlstrom are non-starters. I don't think Bellows is exactly oozing with value either.
I suppose you could fit Beau/Tara if the defensemen who ultimately plugs Leddy's spot is either A) real cheap or B) filled internally by Hickey or Aho |

True.
All this Tarasenko talk makes me wonder if Palmieri is actually coming back? Islanders don’t have room for both of them on the right side.
And should Beauvillier go in a Tarasenko trade, that would leave two holes on the LW. I guess Panik could fill in as 3LW, but I sincerely hope the plan isn’t Parise at 2LW. |

Apparently Suter is looking for a 2 year deal with a contender. Haven’t heard bupkis as to the coin he wants. |

Hearing Vegas @GoldenKnights are closing in on an extension to keep D Alec Martinez off the market.
Expect Martinez to come in around $5 million, perhaps a little more, on a three-year deal.

Sounds like DAL is going to be it though. Friedman had talked about it on his podcast at the end of the week I believe. Nothing guaranteed and he thinks the Isles are still in it, but it looks like he and DAL have some mutual interest and they seem to be the front runner. |

Bailey could always flip over to the left side, assuming they could also re-sign Palmieri to fill Bailey's spot on the right.
I dunno, still plenty of time in this weird offseason so it'll be interesting to see how things play out. |

At this moment I am looking to sign all our big RFAS and cizikas and palms. If we have cap space after that then have at it. Pelech is getting between 6 and 7 million aav. Sorokin is getting 5 plus beau is getting 4.5. Then cizikas and palms |
