It doesn't sound like #SeaKraken have too much in the drawer for when the NHL's roster freeze lifts at 1 p.m. ET tomorrow.
They'll be busy in the days/weeks ahead, but only one or two moves expected right out of the gate. |

Wonder if there was a sweetener with Eberle guess we will find out tomorrow |

Before 7/28 when they can sign an offer sheet with a new team as can UFA’s. |

Why would there be? After all, he's not going to play more than 5 games this coming season. |

I thought they might have a bunch as well, but I heard this morning that there might only be like 3 or 4. Now that was just side deals with the expansion draft itself. What other trades happen aside from those might be plentiful. A couple people believe that there were deals with the Isles, TB and an unknown team. Also Seattle might not be done with TB as a dance partner since TB has to shed quite a bit of salary. We shall see. |

Last night was corny as heck but I actually watched the whole thing for some reason. I was a bit shocked how much Ebs embraced the whole thing.. he was there, gave a ton of interviews, tweeted about how excited he was..etc. I know that is what was expected of him and what most players were supposed to do ... I was just surprised how much he embraced it.
I can't imagine that Bailey would have been that OK with the move .. maybe that was one of the reasons they took Eberle instead of Bailey.
Over all I am not blown away by this Seattle team. They obviously went young talent and kept their cap room. It will be interesting to see their finished product in October as they have a ton of money they HAVE to spend and even more room. will they continue to think of the future and help teams out with Cap room for picks and prospects or will they just offer a ton of money to UFA's?

I dont see Seattle being as competitive as Vegas but they probably will make the playoffs in that very weak division. Have to see how they do in free agency and if they make any trades. |

Yeah, this isn't their opening night roster. I've heard that there is talk of trading Giordano to the Rags and Pitlick being moved as well. Kraken do have quite a bit of money to spend to even get to the floor but they'll spend it. Still a lot of time and a lot of moves to make. |

I'd bet a good chunk of money that they will make several trades. |

I heard this morning that the teams in on Landy are the Isles, Blues and....the Leafs!?
How in the hell could they be in on Landy? They have a bunch of UFA's & RFA's to sign and virtually no cap space. I believe they had just over $6m. Unless they plan on dumping one of their big salary players, I don't see it.
Edit: they have $9.3m in cap space after McCann got taken. They only have 17 players under contract at the moment. |

It's all click bait at this point. No one can be "in on" a player until they are a UFA which I believe is next week. I think the agent is playing the media too to try and get Avs to give him the term he wants.. leaked out that the $$ was fine. So he is probably looking for 7 year deal.

Gourde will miss camp and the first two months of the season after shoulder surgery. He was claimed by seattle last night after winning the cup with Tampa. Had to be a sweetener for Seattle to claim an injured player. Great move by Tampa to free up cap. |

I don't mean in on as in they are working on a deal. I mean they have interest in pursuing. |

They are now $1.5m under the cap. But, they only have 16 players under contract. And only one goalie. They still have a lot of work to do. Perhaps the "sweetener" you're talking about is another salary-shedding player or 2. |

lol.. why would they not be able to keep Beau at this point? The fact that they are still pushing that "Isles in cap trouble" nonsense is a riot. I guess Pelech and sorokin are going to get 12 mill AAV each.

They can keep Beau with zero issue. The speculation is whether or not they can keep Beau if Lou wants to bring in someone like Tarasenko or Landeskog. |

I really don't think Landeskog is going anywhere so refuse to get to excited about the idea. Tarasenko they can do if they want but would need to lose Leo and hickey via trade or buy out. They have plenty of room to do whatever they want.
if you pay pelech 7 mill , Casey 3 mill, Beau 5 mill, Sorokin 3 mill .. you still have 1 mill and Boychuk's number. Want more buy out Leo and hickey.. that's 3 mill more or trade them with a pick and it's 6.5 mill more... They can do whatever they need if they have to make room. they don't right now.

They need to get all those guys signed and somehow figure out how to plug Leddy's spot.
Nobody said "the cap is caving in on the Islanders, they have to trade everyone". Friedman just said that some people are wondering if Lou can go big game hunting and still be able to sign Beau, that's all. |
