This is what I am expecting.. kind of like last time when we had Brock, Eb, Lee, etc. all as UFA. When they come in at this number or Lower it will make me happy. If it is over this number I will be slightly annoyed.. but more than likely the nuber will be less

Pelech 7 years $7 mill AAV ($6 would be great ..he is one of the best D-men in game)

Beau 5 years $5 mill AAV (I honestly think he gets better every year and is worth it. he is the one guy who constantly goes into the corners, forechecks, and battles for puck and can score.. his only issue is loses guys in D-zone when he back checks. He gets back but doesn't take the man... )

Casey- 3 years $3 mill aav - Huge part of this team both on the ice and in the locker room. I would love him to get less but as a UFA that has scored 20 goals the last year he was healthy, kills penalties, and comes up with huge plays in big spots.. )

Sorokin 2 years $3 mill AAV - this one will probably be lower but going to put that number in my head.

We'll find out soon enough where the numbers land. Obviously you're not off base with any of the numbers. Pretty close to what everyone is thinking.

Let’s just say, you’ll probably see a (frank)load of Kraken jerseys when the visit Edmonton.

Hmmm, very interesting.

I still want Lou to sign Tony D' Angelo the second the Rangers buy him out. I was listening to Kouleus on NHL radio yesterday and he was saying same thing I was thinking... this kid last summer was being discussed as a Norris candidate and basically b/c of some political tweets was blackballed from the Rangers and NHL.

Kuli was saying.. This is a very talented player who from every person I spoke to is a great locker room guy and awesome teammate. someone is going to take a shot on letting him resume his career and will be extremely happy they did...

Get him for 1 mill and let him bury the Rangers whenever we play them.

I find the “great locker room guy” bit to be a wee bit suspicious. “Great locker room guys” don’t generally get into fisticuffs with teammates going down the tunnel.

I watched him play in Tucson when he was breaking in. He has the tools and the talent. Very good skater and vision. Good passer. Pretty solid away from the puck. Typically doesn't chase the play in the D zone. Likes to lead the rush, but turns it over sometimes trying to do too much in the neutral zone instead of utilizing teammates.
$1m for 1 year? I'd be in for that. He got in trouble with the Rags for his political tweets. Maybe a maturity thing. Someone will give him another shot.

Edit: I listened to that too and he said he was a good guy and funny in the room. And the punching teammates thing wasn't helpful.

Just to be clear about the Expansion Draft: Seattle didn’t make any “draft consideration” trades, where it got something to take one player over another. It made “side deals” where it agreed to draft a player and then move him to another team. They’ll be announced at 1pm et.

At least we know Lou didn't need to add a pick for them to take Eberle

That's something. Since Ebs was in Seattle, I would guess he's not getting moved either. Which would also mean that we didn't give up a prospect as well.

That's good to know. Lou has hit a homerun clearing cap space so far this offseason. Hope he keeps the ball rolling

Since what I don't know about buyouts you can barely stuff into the Grand Canyon, is there a limit on how many a team can have? Whether simultaneous or cumulative?

there is a buyout calculator on each player on Cap friendly to show u what u would save on the cap and what it would cost in following years. but to answer your question.. no I don't think there is a limit. although I would assume your owner might have something to say if u buy out 5 guys..lol.

something to keep in mind that I always forget when you waive a guy and he is unclaimed you get to bury 1 mill of his cap number in ahl. over that amount doesn't come off your cap. so Hickey is making 2.5 mill.. if you waive him he still costs you 1.5 on cap. If you buy him out this year you only save $1.6 mill total on cap.. so 600k is what u are saving in reality.

I expect we’ll see a couple prospects/picks moved for established players.

I've known about him since he was 14 (same age as my kid). Great player but a hot head who was always controversial. His latest episode was no surprise to me. I want no part of him.

Rumour (strong one) has it that he has a contract in place with Seattle already.

I don't think it's much of a rumor anymore, CapFriendly has it on their site

https://www.capfriendly.com/teams/kraken

Soucy is a guy I'd be very interested in. He was buried behind Spurgeon, Suter, Dumba, and Brodin in MIN but I think there's a quality player there. Cheap, too. Not sure what exactly it'd take to acquire him...probably wouldn't be a small amount.

Dunn still a possibility too

Curious what he gets on his RFA deal. I like that Soucy is signed cheap this year and next. $2.75M
