Per Elliotte Friedman: Canes are trading Nedeljikovic to the Wings for Bernier + 3rd rounder.
Per another source (not sure who): Oilers aren't going to qualify Kahun. - Theo Fox
Come one Stan! Kahun - Kurashev - Kubalik! They can call it the.... wait... nope. |

Makes no sense...are Canes getting another goalie or will resign Mrazek?

Great work, Theo!
What’s up everyone?
Lots about to go down in the next couple of days.
Sounds like Stan may have some moves in place. I would predict 1-3 depth forwards moved. There’s just too many there.
I can see Zadorov flipped for a pick/prospect.
And my take on the Seth Jones front is that the Hawks should absolutely look to acquire him but not at the expense of Dach or DeBrincat.
Hope you all are staying happy and healthy out there!! - Tyler Cameron
Hey, Tyler! Good to see you!
I agree, there's going to be some movement out of the glut of depth forwards. The Hawks have enough to fill 7 forward lines.
Agree, too, on Zadorov being flipped for a viable prospect or picks or a mix of both. I see Boston as a possible destination.
It's inevitable that the Hawks are going to pursue Jones. The Hawks just need to draw a firm line on the sand and be ready to walk away if the Jackets ask too much and won't budge.
I think that was the same with the Kraken yesterday. Francis asked for astronomical returns for side deals and GMs weren't going to fall for that again after what they experienced in the Vegas expansion draft. |

Holy poop! actual perspective!
More Stan Bowman: "There aren’t 32 #1 defensemen in the league. I was looking at this yesterday. There’s probably 10 to 15...and they don’t come available too often. If they do, you have to investigate: Could it work...whether it’s through free agency or through trade?
Also:
Bowman on the Expansion Draft: "Some teams did lose a player they didn't want to, and they're having to shift their focus. We're getting some phone calls on the inbound side, trying to see if they can replace a player they lost. The Seattle thing was fine for us."
Stan said outright he IS willing to trade players to the aforementioned teams to alleviate their roster jam and get some assets back. I get the sense those kind of trades are very likely.
Bowman on offseason plans:
" - Chunk[The salary cap] is not going to preclude us from doing anything. We have some flexibility. That was a big part of the Duncan Keith trade... We're going to be able to pursue some players if it works out. We're also having some trade conversations."
Seth Jones is not a #1. His numbers have been declining for years and his linemate hasn’t seen his numbers dip at all.
This is why I said that Bowman should target Sergachev from Tampa. They need cap relief, we have cap room and we need a #1.
Come on Bowman. |

Why would Tampa get rid of Sergechev? He is locked up for 2 more years at $4.8 mil. before he is a RFA. By the time he is re-upped, Tampa will have cleared substantially all its cap space. They will give away Johnson, Palat, Killorn before even thinking about giving away Sergechev.

The Canes apparently didn't want to give Nedeljkovic what he was asking which was $3.5M (not sure on the term). I personally would've invested that in him if the term wasn't too long. Better him than Mrazek, Reimer, or Bernier.
Before the trade, Carolina had no goalie under contract as they all were RFAs or UFAs.
Nedeljkovic quickly signed a $3.0M x 2 with Detroit. |

The young players, I think, can grow & fill those roles well. But I wouldn't blame JC because of the roster. - I Am The Breadman
What scares me most about all our young D-men is evey one of them becomes Cam Barker. High draft choice, got his chances, always sucked no improvement. |

I would find it very humorous if Bernier told the Canes and their cheap owner to FO and signs elsewhere, like Edmonton, Buffalo, Boston, Pittsburgh etc.
Thats probably why Stevie Y had to throw a 3rd into that deal. |

Mark Kelley believes the goaltending depth in this year's NHL Draft is "really, really strong."
He said Jesper Wallstedt and Sebastian Cossa are certainly worthy of a first-round selection. #Blackhawks - pdx2ord
Trying to get teams in front of us to pick two goalies so players fall obviously.

Boqvist showed significant improvement from one year to the next, so Barker comparison isn't fair, seemed earlier this year he really struggled with his hip and transitioning from forward to backwards, came back from Covid and was much more fluid and effective |

Per his own press conference the answer is yes....may not be the guys we as fans want, but he said, he's getting inbound phone calls on teams looking to replace what Seattle took......that's before addressing any other non expansion trade draft chatter which according to LEGIT media, Hawks were active. - SteveRain
