My hope for him this year is more that he has a good enough year in WBS to push for a spot next year when Rust leaves. This year, I see what you do, they need to add a RW. - Tojo.
You might as well bring back E-Rod and Gaudreau on cheap deals. Sullivan liked both players. Spend money on a 2nd line LW and goaltending. |

I thought hextall was looking for size? Isn't that the opposite? |

We shouldn't count on it when building out the roster but it would be amazing if one of the young guns can have a great season in WBS and be able to make the lineup com playoff time.
I think back to Jake going from college to WBS to making an impact incredibly fast. Look at what Caufield did in this year's playoffs also. You get a young guy who is fresh and has some confidence and they can make a big impact come playoff time. |

So RW praises Seattle's selection and says it's a good thing for the Pens, remind me who Seattle selected from Toronto?
Tanev wouldn't be gone if they didn't deal McCann. |

Yah, but I think he wants a big physical impact player for the top 6, not just a 4th liner. Although I could be mistaken. |

I’m with you - I think a Petts/MAF swap sounds decent. Just listing the NHLers who can play LD - kfinl170
Cap wise a Petts/MAF swap would be difficult straight up. You need extra pieces and Jarry would and should be that extra piece on our side. What they pony up would likely be someone in the $1-2M range and a little older, or possibly a prospect who is getting short on chances.
Looking at Vegas' roster that leaves: Ryan Reaves, Nick Holden, or Jake Bischoff. William Carrier would likely be the best Hextall could hope for.
Straight up, Zucker for MAF would be the most logical for the salary cap. Much closer in dollars than Pettersson.

One of our goalies would have to move also. Idk which I’d prefer. Jarry for the $. But relying on either fleury or cds is a lot to ask.

Well Reaves isn't any good so I'm sure he wouldn't be happy. |

How is that swap difficult? We have over $7M in space. And Petts/Zucker difference is only $1M, not like they are $5M apart …. |

Reaves sucks dude. Get over it. He had 1 goal this season and doesn't do anything on the ice. He is a waste of a roster spot. |

Two ways, one the cap hits are $1.5M. Second the actual dollars are $2.2M for this year.
The Penguin organization has lost quite a bit of money the last two seasons. Burkle can handle it but not Mario and his team of small time investors. They are looking for ways to recoup some of those losses and trading away guys making higher salary over their cap hit is one way to do that. (McCann is one example)
The more I think about it, the more I think Jarry is the key piece going to Vegas.

That's a good point. I think a Fluery/Jarry tandem would be the way to go.
No matter, this is going to be a complicated trade. I do think it's going to get done. Maybe before the draft and we get their first or second (NJ) pick.

Reaves has truculence though
Truculence, Belligerence and Testosterone, and that’s how we want our teams to play

Petts/Jarry would be 7.6m out and 7m in with fleury. So that’s pretty close to even. Either that or they retain 50% and just take Jarry who j think would be a great potential 1a/1b and a few picks move back and forth. |

Yea Jarry definitely has to go if Fleury comes in. I like the Jarry/Petts swap idea. I'd love to trade Zucker and sign Saad as well. |

All joking (or not joking) aside I’d really like to see them use some of this cap space to find Sid the right, right winger. Doesn’t have to be the most high end guy on the market. Someone who will keep the pucks in and force him to play out if the cycle. |

I'd like to see if we can snag Palat from Tampa. Moving Zucker would have to happen. Maybe a 3 team trade. |
