Haha. When it was a fair fight the “tough guy” McCarty could barely land a punch. |

Yea we were only taking him with Getzlaf, when Getz fell through that ended haha. - 668710
I think Burke will probably have him as a FA target and possibly Perry as well. |

We can't have too many old guys haha. I can see maybe Getz since Geno will be out. |

Haha, we'll have to wait and see what happens during the summer. But they definitely don't have the Vegas vibe. |

Domi I was going to suggest could be a target for us, but he had shoulder surgery and is out for an extended amount of time. |

Caught an interview w DeFabo this morning. He said Hextall told him he doesn't feel POJ is NHL ready.
Wouldn't really change much, I assumed he'd lean towards Friedman and they'd be in competition. Riikola too if he's still here, but he won't win a spot |

Yeah, we’ll see what happens, but I’d be concerned if I was a Seattle fan. Saw someone suggesting that they’re tanking for the next draft. Could be a good plan, not a great way to gain fans tho. No side deals seemed like a huge misstep as well. Apparently had a set price, n no one was willing to pay. 30 teams is a lot to talk to, but it doesn’t hurt to listen a little bit. The side deals are what paid off for Vegas the most. Time will tell, but ol’ Ronny kinda seems like he out smarted himself.

So I watched the Hex presser yesterday and at the end of it he basically says they wont be adding any big name players, or perhaps anyone else, mainly due to not having the cap space. I believe earlier in the presser he said once the roster is filled out they only have a couple mill in space but I could be wrong on that one. I had it on in my ear as I was doing other things.
EDIT: he said the loss of McCann and Tanev was basically to become cap compliant. |

Damn I was in the building watching the Lightning raise the cup and now I gotta watch them raise the banner. Guess I'll just jump on the Lightning bandwagon.

Always thought Riikola was an untapped resource.

hahaha is it possible you have some Bolts bias anyways having lived there and I think it was you that have worked for them as well? I think anyone would under those circumstances.

Haha yeah I worked for them for 6 years (and did freelance for them the last 2 years), but no, I honestly don't root for them at all lol I wanted them to go to game 7 and lose (because I got paid based on each game played) lol.
My current boss at my new job was invited to a suite for the cup clinching game, so I got an invite. Lucked out, free Woodford Reserve all night. |

For me a large chunk of the fans make it pretty easy to be indifferent about them. |

I think they should tank for at least one year. Wright in next years draft is the real deal, I think you can consider him a generational talent at this point. Next year's free agency is also going to be stacked.
Suck for one year, acquire a bunch of draft picks to retain salary on trades this season. Next year Beniers or whoever they get at #2 will likely be ready and weaponize that cap space. If they were to luck out and win the lottery, Wright will hop right into the NHL and will probably compete at a 2C level. |

Honestly it was working for them that made me dislike them more. I didn’t like how they treated their employees. Worked them like dogs. I was working like 50-70 hour weeks multiple times on basically an entry level salary (6 years in) with no overtime. It was garbage.
But I was happy for all my friends that still work there and got a couple of rings, those people work their Richards off.
Yeah, I definitely wasn't going to say no to a suite seat cup clinching game lol my boss is pretty rad. |

Not anywhere near as cool but this reminded me of a story:
My Junior year when I was on team hockey for Notre Dame media relations, ND played BC at Fenway Park. The hockey boss told me and my friend (really my friend who was a rock star in the office and I just tagged along) that if we were available, we could be part of the media “team”. I didn’t get that it was a wink wink, nudge nudge you wanna free pass? kind of deal, so when we showed up I asked the guy Tim what we were doing, assuming I’d be on assists like usual. He looked at me like I was a (frank)ing moron and said “Uhhhhh… watching hockey?”
Tim ruled. Pittsburgh fan too. I think he used to work for the Pens. |
