"Yeah you know what guys, we haven’t forgotten about ," Dreger said. "We’ve talked a lot about , it feels like has been out there forever. The expectation is that if there is a trade fit, perhaps that interest elevates over the course of the weekend after the draft. Everybody now is focused on yes on making deals, but also making first-round selections on Friday and then completing the draft on Saturday.
"So it’s not a back-burner per say but there is expected to be more interest in from those teams maybe that don’t land the piece, like a in Chicago. Philadelphia would like to do something but the Flyers don’t have a ton of cap space but (general manager) Chuck Fletcher can be creative so wouldn’t count him out of this as well."
Even after Ellis? Really?
Look him sign with the Rangers |

They basically told him that he wasn't going to be invited back and Blashill was taking over no matter what. Some coaches, like Torts or Therrein are shelf life coaches...they'll get you decent results in the short term but around year 3 they lose the room and everybody hates them. Those coaches are being killed off with this generation of sensitive kids |

mtl should have the cap space with Tatar gone and Weber off the book. I don't think he will come here, but he would be a great add. - deadpoulet
perhaps this has nothing to do with it in Hamilton's case, but if the league is all about parity I never understood why they didn't find a way for all teams to be on the same playing field concerning salary tax deductions. there probably aren't any simple solutions but I'm sure something could be done financially so that Canadian teams wouldn't be as disadvantaged compared to 'Murican ones.

I think having a winning team helps. Now, it's the pieces that they lose compare with the ones they add. |

oh for sure. but if a player gives a lot of importance to the financial aspect of things then he might be more enticed to look elsewhere.

Yep. I think Cali is like 54%.
I remember Avery saying how if a guy signed with the Rangers for $1M after state and municipal taxes along fees all players pay to the PA, they're taking home $300K.
But check Auston Matthews tax loopholes for his salary since he uses AZ as his primary residence. |

Primary residence doesn't matter...it's the jurisdiction where it's earned |

also that is (frank)ing insane, although Avery doesn't seem like the most credible source for anything.
