calling this a "mistake" is pretty laughable IMO.

I'm not saying the kid should be banned or never should get an opportunity... and I guess to an extent it was evitable that some team was going to take him... but its a pretty bad reflection on the league that a team cannot resist drafting a guy with these types of issues while the issues are still ongoing.

Based on what I've seen, it looks like any criminal charges are settled after he paid a fine. But I would imagine there'd be a civil suit (no idea how those work in Sweden) plus the victim said she wants a serious apology to her from him directly.

Yep, similar to his response to the Chicago sexual assault incidents. Kinda dated thinking but he is an older man so makes sense.

Weird part is, the kid himself asked not to be taken and the Habs couldn’t even respect that. I dunno if he fully meant it or not, but it’s odd. Maybe he wanted to take some time and let things cool down but now he’s front and centre.
