From what I read, he only showed it to his teammates and they deleted it afterwards. It's not on the internet for everyone to see. Which is a good thing... - BashCH
So, his teammates NARC'd on him? F'in Punks

So we’re the sportsnet guys. They said the kid was removed from 31 other teams lists. Just an all around dumb pick by Bergevin. - TurdFergeson
Don't think he was removed from all other teams' list but certainly some of them. |

I hope not, Montreal’s in kinda a great position. They have some serious young talent. I hope we use our cap wisely. |

Naw, I’m extremely happy with the pick it’s perfect for Montreal’s circumstances. I’m defending him cause he’s a child… He made a mistake, he needs to learn from it yes, but I don’t believe it should ruin a young mans life sorry. - Mr.FunFacts
Get with the times man! First of all you need to act like he was a middle aged man who murdered a family of four. Then when the person acknowledges he made a mistake and apologizes you reject the apology and any idea that a seventeen year old can learn from his mistake and grow into a decent human being. If all goes to plan he should never be able to earn a living (because let's face it, if he can't earn money playing hockey why should he be able to delivering pizza or collecting garbage) and when dies of starvation living on the streets maybe just maybe his debt will be paid.....nah it won't. Yay cancel culture! |

I don't care, you still had good players on the board at this point. Just go with the next one on the list. I don't think this poopstorm is going to be worth it to be honest. - stinger67
With as much upside as Mailloux? Probably not, or it's a complete crapshoot at this point and you just bank on luck with your pick. Also, Bergevin probably had a strong feeling this kid would get picked in the second round anyway, Mailloux can repeat ad nauseum that he doesn't want to get drafted but it doesn't make him ineligible or undraftable to every single team, someone was bound to take a chance on him tomorrow.
This whole cinderella run completely changed the optics for MB and for the fans as well: the team came so close of tasting the Stanley Cup this season, but in the process they may have lost Weber for good and Price is on his last legs, litterally. This team needs a future and it sure ain't gonna be through free agency. Trades can be done but you have to give something to get something so the draft has consistently been the best tool for the Canadiens to acquire valuable assets to compete.
I think a lot of fans will hate the pick but they need to understand that this team will never be able to compete and potentially win a Stanley Cup by doing moves like any other American market out there who can sign free agents at will or be able to trade for superstars who want to play for their market. We can either live in the past and bask in the glory of dynasties that played when most of us were not even born or we can make bold and crazy moves that may give us a chance to win it all at last. |
