Broadcasting from Applebees? - dashripdot
Nah!
Gorton was actually interviewed live by NHL Network two days ago within an hour or so of the Expansion Draft beginning; from I believe his residence as per the background. So he likely also eats meals besides at Applebees; unless he was awaiting delivery of one from them that ONE night.

Exactly! The Tom Wilson incident ending Panarin's season; the Martin hit ending Drury's season in I believe, that 6-1 loss to the Isles that Jimbo mentioned which ended their postseason hopes before their next matchup where Clutterbuck ended Lindgren's season; all in combination was the final straw for these fans demanding toughness here for next season.
But that's what also in part forced Dolan to make the management changes deemed questionable, and in turn get Drury to act; whereby while watching the semifinals of the postseason from the outside, Drury mentioned of seeing "the physicality, the energy, the effort, & the intensity of the teams left in the playoffs"; adding further, "we want harder players to play against." So he initially brings in Gallant coaching that hard, tough, north to south style of play; and then first delivers by bringing in Goodrow ahead of free agency for a low exchange sent to Tampa for sole first rights to sign him. But fans are still upset with his contract, thinking his multi roles game would only be worth Donald Brashear, or Tanner Glass type money.
I don't like the value in return received for a top 6 player in Buch, even if it also added here some toughness. But the facts of needing cap room after next season for Fox and others, along with Buch being a current F.A., could have driven his price down, due to teams worried they couldn't sign him. However, the breaker for me would be the SLIGHTEST of an overpayment to acquire Eichel, and see him not take the ice for at least 6 months, after needing to undergo neck surgery that very few pro athletes of major contact sports ever recovered from 100%, if ever returning to action again. - RangerSaver

My friends in STL are dying laughing. Apparently they thought Tarasenko+ for Buch - Maskdman3
I didn't say that I wanted anything to do with a broken Tarasenko. Just that people in StL thought they would have to pay NY to take him in a deal for Buch. Instead they got him for a 4th line player and a pick with a 15% chance of being an NHL player.
I don't want a broken Eichel but my fear is that if this wasn't clearing cap to do that anyway Drury is now getting murdered by the fans and the media and will give away the farm to make that deal happen to save face |

I'm sure Drury is really worried about twitter nation.
Look, everyone wanted more for Buch, but the dude is gonna get paid and the Rangers knew that and the Blues knew that. If they under cut him, he files for arbitration and comparables might put him closer to 6M or more.
For the Blues, there is a chance that they walk away from Buch. Slim but possible.

It all comes down to what’s next. If the rangers have a trade for a top 6 center than fine. But if not then I would have just held on to buch and tried to move him at the next deadline. Just sucks to sell low on an asset |

But Buch's agent was demanding a longer term deal at higher money, in contrast to a one year deal only. That's the reason why the Rangers were forced to deal him, & he became ranked high in status on the NHL's Trade Bait list starting a few weeks back. |

Yea but he is an RFA, the rangers don’t have to do a long term deal just cause his agent wants to lol. They still hold the cards |

Hindsight would have seen a trade at the deadline but that was a different regime. We don't know what Buch was asking for and even if it was reasonable did the Rangers want to pay that to a player they are hoping would be 3rd on the depth chart. |

Fox about to get paid - TPC
Fox was going to get paid big once Dallas re-inked Heiskanen last weekend to his new long term 8 year/$8.45M AAV.

Forced is a relative term. Rangers could have gone to arb with him. Get Blais at a cheaper cost. |
