Remember when we all said wtf to the Lindbolm pick? GMs must’ve known better with than one to. U can usually tell when a pick is going to be a bust, this one isn’t looking great. - nyrangers9479

I actually like the pick, defensive center who works is butt off and is a wizard at faceoffs apparently. Seems like a good 2 way character

Note the part how he struggles against Braden Schneider - WineryDog
is that knock on this kid? or a compliment to Schneider

My complaint isnt against the kid we drafted, I know nothing about him. My complaint is not trading up and getting Raty. |

The issue most hockey guys have with these picks is that these are the kind of guys you can find lower in the draft or in other organizations that you can trade picks outside the 1st 2 rounds for. Most 2nd and 3rd rounders who make it are skill guys who are shorter or smaller guys. To me, that's what you bet on because you might get a Buch, Point, Kuch, etc. Either way if you miss, you miss, but if you hit, I'd rather have a Duclair than a Lemieux. At the end of the day it's 3 or 4 years before we really see these guys anyway. |

I just found it funny that it was mentioned by a non Rangers site.
But yeah, it's like the college spring game where you're like the offense looks great.... but the defense may nit be good... hmmmm |

Raty has Sean Day written all over him. Kid was projected to be a potential first overall pick a year ago and now falls this far? He moved up in competition this past year and sucked horribly while other prospects who weren’t as hyped outplayed him significantly.
This is another high risk move for the Isles next to Ho Sang and Kirill Kabanov, and the latter 2 failed miserably.
You also seem to forget that it takes 2 to tango. You ever think that other GMs didn’t want to give up a 2nd round pick for a 3rd and 4th? If a team tries to move up, they obviously covet someone which makes them lose leverage in negotiations as the other teams know that they can make them overpay if they really want it. |

Better be all centers. Just play the odds, one has to become NHL caliber. |

Brody Lamb is an intriguing guy. He played center in HS but wing in the USHL. Scored more points per game in Minnesota than anyone the last 10 years. He's so young he'll be in the USHL next year and then Univ of Minnesota the next. This could be the kind of guy that if his birthday was slightly later would blow up for next years draft.
Just trying to find some positive in the last few days! |

Vaisanen has some intrigue behind him also. Looks like the emphasis here is players 3-4 years away which is understandable.

At this point in the draft, the odds are against these kids ever reaching the NHL. Its such a crapshoot, we just have to hope that we get lucky with even ONE of these picks.
I think the biggest positive out of the last few days here is that we didn't do any foolish trade to obtain Eichel. I have stated all along, that I think he stays in Buffalo and goes on LTIR. If he does get traded, let him go ANYWHERE but the Rangers! |

I don't see any way that Buffalo keeps him. I think Drury is standing firm on his offer and waiting for Buffalo to blink. I'm just preparing myself for the inevitable at this point.
