Well that's not going to help the negotiation process, less likely Buffalo wants to deal with us now - TPC
Rangers should turn the tables on Buffalo: "We're not going to trade you these very good players and draft picks for Eichel if all you're going to do is ruin their careers, too. Do you realize how much money we're going to have to spend to put Eichel through counseling to undo the psychological damage your organization has done to him? The Sabres should be sending more assets for the Rangers to take Eichel and fix him. You should be ashamed!" |

I don't understand why all the focus is on Eichel. With our assets we should be able to put together an offer you can't refuse on most of the centers in the league.
Scheifele, Barkov, Aho, O'Reilly, etc.... Guys who aren't making 10M a year and 1 hit away from never playing again

Maybe the Rangers are inquiring. Aho isn't going anywhere, because Carolina had MTL do them a favor with the offer sheet last year. If, and it's a big "if" Eichel isn't damaged goods, he's younger than the rest, and already signed longterm. |

I doubt those teams want to trade their top center
Buffalo and Eichel want a split
Big difference |

I have never been a fan of the Rangers chasing Eichel. It's already a distraction and with question marks and he isn't even on the team. |

How many guys are realistically going to be given up in a trade? Barkov because the Florida Panthers thing might be the only one. Maybe you convince me the Canes cheap out and don't want to pay Aho, but I don't think that's the case either.

I was just pointing out Eichel isn't the only top center in the league, and those 4 guys were just off the top of my head. Given the assets we have, I would think Drury could make most GMs stop and at least think. |

Last off-season when the Canadiens sent the offer sheet to Aho and he signed it, the Canes GM thanked them because they always intended to match any offer sheet (especially one that low). It benefitted Carolina because they didn't have to get into an ugly negotiation with the player they wanted to keep. |

It was already brought up that the process to buy him out would begin and that part of it would be him passing through waivers. |

Coyotes are a team to watch today. They have multiple irons in the fire, beyond ongoing talks with Boston. Forwards like Garland & Dvorak could have new teams soon enough if AZ can wrap things up. |

Having irons in the fire does the Coyotes no good; they only know how to burn themselves. |

They should just adopt Wyle E. Coyote as their official mascot and accept their place in the league |
