Bennett was drafted to early obviously, but he’s a player who is important in the playoffs, and his pts/game goes up in the playoffs as well although not his true roll.
$4.4 seems a tad high but FLA hoping what they saw continues. Looked like a good fit there. - jjonah
Interesting to note that Florida now has the 3 out of the top 4 picks in the 2014 draft on their roster. |

*whispers* Chairot has seen a decline in his underlying numbers every year since 17-18 - Rexypoo
Chiarot was a regular d-man on a team that was in the finals.
Pionk was a regular d-man on a team that made the final 8.
Trouba - well, his team missed the playoffs and one of his teammates won the Norris.
Not an $8 million player by any stretch.
Forget the underlying numbers.......it's about winning !

And yet he helped his team beat Vegas who beat up on everyone’s regular season favourites the Avs.

Patrick Maroon is the what forward in the NHL. 3 Cups in a row with 2 different teams. Confirmed. |

He didn’t help anything lol. Petry and the corpse of Shea Weber did a lot of the work on the blueline. Carey Price did almost all of it. |

who cares if we were mocked at the time, we have won that trade hands down - Ross77
Right now it’s about a tie. We only have one of the two players on the roster, and New York has the best player in the trade.
If Heinola gets a chance and delivers, we bodied them long term. |

No kidding. All it means at the end of the day is that the pro scouts were right and fans like Rexy got it wrong ( I use the term fans very loosely in this example). - jetsnation
Is there any particular reason you’re an absolute cock literally all of the time |

I predicted that Trouba would be bought out within 4 years of his contract once he signed that deal.
I can see Trouba in Florida in 2 years. That’s where all former high priced Rangers defencemen end up: Yandle, Shattenkrik, Gerardi, Stralman, McDonnough, just to name a few….. |

Vegas and the Avalanche finished with the same number of points. Do not really see that as an upset. Funny things happen in the playoffs and I am sure that the brutal series that occurred between Colorado and Vegas contributed to Vegas being a bit tired when the played the Habs.
It’s too bad that the Jets did not put up more of a fight as that would have exhausted Montreal to play against Vegas. This was the exact reason I picked the Jets to make the finals. |

its kills you that guys like Edmundson, Chairot, Perry and others helped Montreal get to the cup because you want to believe all you need to know about hockey is based 100% in analytics. I keep telling Rexy, its not the be all end all. ITS JUST ONE TOOL TO USE, THATS IT, ONE TOOL NOT THE ENTIRE TOOL BOX.
Analytics can not measure 50% of the game. |

Rumour has it we are signing Stastny soon. Hope we don’t over pay |

Good for Montreal for getting to the cup final and giving their fans something to cheer for. Now you probably won't hear about them making the playoffs for the next 5 years. |

I think Evgeni Svechnikov would be an ideal buy low candidate. Would make for an interesting depth forward. |

Perry was a solid analytics player. The other two were carried by their high level partners and high level forward group. |

I wonder what Nic Ritchie would cost, a guy who can actually play with some sandpaper in our bottom 6. |

Would love Ritchie here. 6’2” 230 lbs and does NOT get challenged vary often at all.
Made $1.4 last year, 15 goals and is a presence
My guess is he will get $2.5-$3 |

I take personal offence at the judgment of small d men |

Knowing the Jets, they are looking for 2 PK guys to replace Appleton and Lewis so I hope they go after Wennberg and Granlund. Though my guess is they get Sheahan and Glendening. |

Wennberg and Granlund would be great though you're right they'll probably sign Sheahan and Glendening but that's better then Hendricks, Bourque, Thompson so getting better at least.. Lol |

I’m being 100% honest
Went on Twitter after I posted and says deal is done 1 year $3.75 million
I’m good with that |
|

Stastny 1 year, 3.75 million. Good deal. The one year is key. I’m fine with this |
