In a trade, not the draft. They’re stuck with Bob for 5 more years at $10 M, and that’s a lot to pay him to be a backup. - scottak
I missed him being on the market. |

Honestly I don’t like trading 1st round picks especially when you are not a true contender for a championship. I really wish the cap hit was around 8 million instead but a lot of National writers and commentators think that Chicago didn’t give up enough.
Chicago fans always think they give up too much.
I think if Dale Tallon made the same exact trade all the Bowman haters would think that this would be the greatest trade ever.
Time will tell but the Hawks got the best player in the trade.A number 1 defenseman that’s not a bad thing. |

I’m not sure he was, but they were log jammed at goalie with Bob, Dreidger, Knight & Levi. And Bob isn’t going anywhere with that contract.
So Stan could have put something together for Knight, who is leaps and bounds better than any Blackhawk goalie. Hell, Levi probably is too, as well as Driedger. |

Granted, none of the 1st round picks ended up on teams that were ultimately successful because of them (small caveat), but still not a great success rate.

BINGO, do you guys think your defense is so good that you don’t need a goaltender? - LAHawk
lol they just don't value goalies very highly. Hence rolling with Mrazek for the past few years.
End of the day I think they see this as a chance to start fresh and get some actual stability in net for a few years. |

He was 19 and going nowhere. Exactly why you have seen both Driedger and Levi shipped off. They will find a way to unload BOB after this upcoming season. |

You want to pay him 7-8M? Cause that is about what he going to cost. - Elbows15

Silver lining: Seth Jones is still under his previous contract for one more year and that contract only holds a M-NTC. But the hawks will never get the same value back which they gave up. |

Taige Harding
Humongous second year eligible defender who has taken the next step in developing with improving puck and recognition skills. At six foot seven, his wingspan lets him cover multiple assignments and ability at his size to pivot in protection, and displays shut down ability worthy of a mid-round selection. Not close to the player that didn't hear his name called last year. This is the next Colton Parayko in development.

Even Carolina knows we are going to suck. A swap of picks, no sweetener? |

They already added a boatload and wanted a extra next year
Was there ever any thinking that Carolina would be better than the hawks?
(the trades flips to another year if Hawks are better) |

Yeah and the new contract makes that M-NTC into a NMC just by being a poopty contract. |

Bowman must know he is being canned and this is (frank) you out the door.
A massive reach at 32.
Trades a 3rd to draft a guy no one has on their board.
Somehow they took Dach by mistake

Ethan Del Mastro
Big strong defenseman who gets up and down the sheet easily. Outmuscles the opposing players for pucks, and won't be moved from his anchor when in front of his crease. Don't try and take advantage of his teammates with cheapie, because he erupts into a Hulk-like mean streak. Is effect with the puck, quickly advancing it and finding passing lanes in transition, quickly hitting his outlets. uses his long stick and reach to snag loose pucks out of traffic. Places hard shots on net from the blue line. Pinches to sustain pressure. Must work on his lateral agility, but he is a hockey player. Was a member of the Canada’s 2021 IIHF Under-18 World Championship team. |

Del Mastro was rated 89, got him at 105 so that breaks the pattern..................
Sure looks like they are drafting big strong Dman that can clear the crease and block shots.
I don't know any of them, so I can't really comment, but no female doging about Euro Smurfs today |
