The question then remains: how long do you keep running this core back out there again?

What if the Leafs win a playoff round next year but fail to advance to the Conference Finals? Do you keep riding the Core? I mean, sure, it all depends on some factors but you have to think those factors become less and less convincing YOY.

The tantalizing thoughts of what might have been if Snakevares doesn't get freak injured is... well, best not to go there. But it certainly does provide some pause to the "burn the Core 4 down" narrative.
