Jaden Schwartz is an "element" I could see him adding. If he doesn't get him he will sign some bottom 6 forwards and trade for good forward I think. - Santo_44
Ehh... I'm not big on Jaden Schwartz. Granted, he's had a couple of really solid playoff runs but I'm hoping the Leafs get bigger, not smaller in their Top 6 and he's not going to be cheap.
Would rather see the Leafs spend a bit more on a goalie like Linus Ullmark and for some grit (Foligno?).
Still think Foegele would be a nice trade to make if the Canes are up to it. |

Tampa shouldn't have lost four straight to Columbus, but hockey is (frank)ed up like that.
Yes, we don't need to go through the whole Tampa contrast again, just saying.
Montreal escaped that series by the skin of their balls. The margins are very thin in the NHL. - Zezel
Kadri makes that hit on JT, it's five and a game and a one year suspension
Just sayin

The FA market opens on Wednesday. Of course he is focused on it. That doesn't mean he's going to make any significant changes to this club through FA. - mjones242
Dubas: “If we don’t find the players we’re looking for in free agency, we’ll loop back to the trade market.”
The trade market has been open except for the expansion pause. He’s been waiting for free agency. I hope he meets your standard of significant. I suspect he won’t.

People are concerned about the prospects but there's 4 guys I know at the top:
Amirov
Robertson
Sandin and Liljegren
There's others I'm sure and people are fixated on them being traded. What has Grundstrom done in LA or Durzi? Marchment is doing okay in FLorida but it's just okay.
If you want to be upset then be upset with Lou who traded Verhaghe who's now a top winger in FLorida.

The first penalty of the game, brought to you by Tampax, Number Zero Joel. Two minutes delay of game for repetitive smashing of the report function.
Maybe the refs are tired of your cry baby act after being dusted there Komisarek. - DrunkenCanuck
Literally did not hit a single report button or say anything to any ref.
Find someone else to whine about. |

Relentless forechecker, speedy, two way, great passer.
Think there is a fit if the price I right...will probably have to go the trade route though with a bigger addition. |

If we aren't putting stock into the winning percentage then to be fair we have to look at everything and say "well it was because of the situation". Montreal would not have made the playoffs in a regular season. We can say "they got hot" and also say their roster shouldn't have worked either then.
Also, Tavares injury DOES suck. It sucks that Foligno and Muzzin were also injured. - Aaron_85
I'm not saying we shouldn't put any stock in the regular season winning % last year, I'm saying we shouldn't overrate its significance.
This team will have a new goalie situation, a new LW to replace Hyman, and plenty other opponents this year to contend with.
I certainly lament the Tavares loss and other injuries the Leafs had to contend with, but losing 3 straight to MTL in the fashion they did (two glaring defensive gaffes) was pretty unforgiveable. A commitment to an absolutely embarrassing PP strategy certainly didn't help either.
Hoping the Leafs add some speed and grit to the bottom 6, a solid 1bG, and that Robertson/Sandin/Liljegren take major steps forward to helping this club. |

Meh, sick of 5'10" targets for trades and picks. Did Seattle really screw up that much by getting Oleksiak (6'7") and Larsson (6'3") as their top pair? Do the Leafs have the current make up to add more smallish players rather than 6'3"+ with skill?

Prime candidate to get traded IMO. The other 3 are more valuable to the org.

Schwartz took a bit of dip in numbers so maybe his contract takes a noticeable dip too but this is his last chance for a big pay day. Let's hope the flat cap world makes things more reasonable.
I'm still thinking one or both of Rielly and Kerf are moved out. |

Liljegren isn't looking that promising at this point from what I hear. Then again I know (frank) all about how the farm players are. But Sandin and Robertson I have hope for based on their NHL cups of coffee thus far. |

Kerfoot yes.
Rielly no. Think its extremely unlikely.
They probably want to go short term on Bonino or Stastny for the 3rd line. Much easier to move Kerfoot after that. |

I do agree the PP thing was a debacle. If they'd just told the players to freestyle at will it would've probably clicked hard. |

The margins aren't quite as thin as you might think. Yes, poop happens occasionally, but there's a reason why certain teams keep making deep runs.
As I've mentioned many times, TBL had been to the Conference Finals 3 of previous 4 years before that sweep (and one of those times they made it to the Cup Finals) and then won the Cup the past 2 years.
Great team doing great things. The Leafs aren't in that category... yet. |

Yep. He's only 22 and has steadily improved YOY on the Marlies culminating in him being on the Top pair playing big minutes.
Still young and he's an RHD that is absolutely trending towards being an NHLer. He's definitely underrated as an asset. |
