Are you suggesting that the Leafs are a “really good team”?

Benning is completely revamping the bottom 6
I saw the VGK tweet with Schmidt playing baseball with their team. It’s clear that Schmidt’s heart is still in Vegas. Might be best to trade him asap

Amazing what good goaltending can do. It’s an illusion, a cheap trick that fools fans, media, players, coaches, managers, and owners to believe in something that doesn’t actually exist.
I’m curious to see if Montreal can sustain success next season or if they will regress much like the Canucks did after their improbable playoff run. - bloatedhefty
It's also an illusion that has it's names etched on the Stanley Cup and Conn Smythe. So much so that only a fool would dismiss it as a cheap trick. |

I’m not sure they can sustain success, but the team really put it all together and had a really good run. |

Of course I’m very pleased that the Canucks have been to the final a few times, it was heartbreaking that they ended up losing but yes I am happy.
You trying to imply that there is only one good team and 31 crap teams. - Makita
I don't see multiply Stanley cups handed out every year.
I can't imagine why Canucks fans were calling for a rebuild when the team was making the playoffs.

Defend the Brotherhood!
Cheap trick in a sense that one player can hide or temporarily cover up all of the problems that a roster may have. Problem is, hot goaltending doesn’t always stay hot. When same goaltender has an average or below average stretch e everyone’s like the team can’t score, poor defensive coverage, no back checking, no intensity, no tenacity, etc. etc.
Those problems were always there but weren’t as obvious when the goaltender is playing lights out. |

I am still pissed that Canucks didn't draft a RHD with the 743 pick OA yesterday .
I guess Benning was busy wondering how he could let a third line center that has been with 5 different teams in 6 years slip through his hands

Do you generalize on everything in life, people on social media demanding change, a dozen people protesting at the arena.
There will be fans calling for change, big deal, there is a silent majority that don’t need to feel gratification at yelling for change. |

Always.
I agree. The best teams are the ones that have different players step up at different times to carry them throughout a season. Not just the Goalie. |

As Canuck fans we are living in the illusion now. Every time our goaltending gets hot our team looks amazing. Even last season as poopy as it was, the team went on a bit of a tear in the second half (complete opposite from the first half). Once again, great goaltending was the driving force behind that success. |

You would be surprised how many people in here wanted Jake signed for the money he got and wanted Toffoli to go because he was too slow.

I'm sure there were many here and they've been wrong time and again. I've been telling everyone that Virtanen needed to go years ago, that tanev needed to go several years ago.
I gave Jim the benefit of the doubt but he's ns got to go now. |
