Did you hear last night when Quinn said NJ arena smells?
I think he sort of squashed any hopes of playing there. - VANTEL
It's not just the arena, NJ smells. |

I honestly don't know enough about these kids. I just looked up video on that klimovich kid and he looks mean. I'll honestly just have to leave it to the experts and trust they did their homework. The only thing I wish was that he was a center or a defenseman. We need both more than wingers right now imo - Codes1087
He has an effin good shot .
Daniel Gee put together a little package of highlights. We will hopefully get to see him next year. CanucksAbby will show if in Russia or Chris F will show QMHL

The smell of Portuguese food and muggings is intoxicating. This is why visiting teams never want to get on the bus out of Newark. |

Seems like a lot of people into draft prospects really like what the Stars, Canes, Ducks and Preds have done. I'm probably missing a couple of other teams as well.

Flames draft the best goal scorer in the draft and get the Rodney Dangerfield treatment. |

TB draft Schmidt - shocking!! - Brooks_Light
Mtl took Kostenko 87th
I've got many swings for the later rounds still.
TB also took Eamon Powell last year that I wanted much more than Jurmo. |

Things I've seen and read is that he has one of the best shots of the draft, is super mean and physical, but needs to work on skating and making smart choices/plays |

I trust their scouting, they have a good track record. Plus he's also one of the youngest kids who got selected that high. |

From what I've read, his skating is okay, but his playmaking is not the best. I'm assuming his defensive play is also a work in progress. |

Lots of tools, very, very raw.
The book on Klimovich is effectiveness. Dangerous in every area of the ice, whether from a distance or at the net, his creativity keeps opponents guessing. But he is also raw. Very raw.
A lot of plays he makes seem choppy.
Scouts also note that Klimovich isn’t great with his decision making, but is good in tight spaces and that adds to his development ceiling. He could eventually become a second-line fixture and one of the Canucks’ best scorers, or he could flame out. That’s the chance you take with a raw but intriguing player. |

What I like about these drafts is the hype.
About five players every year make a big impact in the NHL . Another 20 make the NHL every year. When I see some people going five rounds deep of must have players I get a laugh. Pretty much after the top 50 you become that old lady placing your nickels in the slot machine hoping to win the big payoff.

Seems like a decent prospect to me. Ideally Benning recoups a pick in a Schmidt trade |

lol so true, we all do get caught up in it way too much but that's also the fun part of being a sports fan
If the 9th overall guy turned out to be a Garland type player, that would be considered a win. |

It feels like a pretty wild swing for 40th. I think not having a 3rd made them pull the trigger early. |

I had Garland in my pool. He is a very active in all fields. He covers all the bases. We took two years off from selecting high picks , they can pick up again next year. There is already enough young players. |
