I agree but contract aside, they will miss the player - obie
for the team overall, of course. However, I think the difference on the 1st line will be negligible |

Yes.
He's signing with EDM for 7 years, $5M+ |

Montreal simply doesn't have the assets to be a good enough trade partner for Eichel however I do believe that Bergevin would be dumb enough to try and acquire the Sabre enigma. |

Sure you are also the one saying Eichel is a generational talent when he is elite at best and now injured |

Do you guys think Gallagher production will drop with 2 of his line mates gone? I know psychologically it’s still the same for him but the players he may be playing with next season is the question |

I don't see the value in acquiring Eichel. Between attitude concerns, health concerns, 10 Million in cap space (which would put us in cap hell unless Drouin went out), and the number of assets it'll take to acquire him it's not worth it imo. I'd rather try and resign Danault and try to sign a good left winger instead ie Hoffman. We keep our assets and don't face the health gamble. |

Name calling is always a good way to address someone, bravo on that. In case you didn’t get it from the article i have serious reservations about going for Eichel. I didn’t say Harris should be a centre piece mainly a piece of the package. - Karine Hains
Never understood that
Go to another teams page and be a arse
To get talent you have to give talent
Trade is going to hurt
As it should
Hell of a run in playoffs |

Eichel won’t start in Buffalo and the price will be reduced. UFA market is hitting in 3 days and GM knows it. Eichel going to have a NTC next year and that will reduce even more the price.
Watch it. He’s gone in the next 3 days. You’re not getting an elite equal return. - MONSTERSofMETALZ
Not really.
He's got 5 years left on his deal. If he really wants out he won't be using it for much leverage. His other option is to waste the next 5 years of his career/life in Buffalo. Since Buff is rebuilding it's not like they are in a hurry.

Ok but say you trade for Eichel and two years down the line, he wants out for some reason, you are stuck with a player on a NMC and you don't have the freedom to move him wherever you want for the best return possible.

It’s going to be Eichel choice at this point. He already want out but next year he’s going to choose WHERE to go. It’s definitely going to reduce the Price. You also have 1 year gone from the contract, the injuries etc etc etc. Else he’s stuck in Buffalo and he’s going to be a sh1tty captain. Not a need in Buffalo at this point.
Of course it’s this year or the price will appear lower lol |

excellent player, but injuries will lower the price.
and the 10M contract too. not that many teams can take on 10M without returning a bad contract back. Habs can.
so will MB be interested? your guess is as good as mine. one thing is sure, Suzuki, Caufield and Romanov are not going anywhere. |

Danault I think it’s a done deal that he is not returning. How close are we in landing Hoffman? |

The discussions are funny. Question: How much would it cost for a team to sign a franchise number 1 center on the FA market???? 10 mill per is cheap compared to being on the FA market!!! As far as his NMC from what I understand it doesn’t kick in till after nexts years draft is done so the Sabres aren’t as pressed as people think so regardless what he’s saying Sabres DONT have to move Eichel now. Injuries are a part of the game. Granted, it’s an injury that takes thing into the unknown but he is already cleared to be back skating and feeling good per reports. But yeah it’s going to be a question on any GM’s mind until they see the medical reports. The cost to trade for a franchise center is tough as it’s rare one is available so early into his career. I’ve used the offer sheet compensation as a guide just to get a general idea of compensation for someone of his stature at his age. With year and term it falls under the 3-4 1st round picks compensation to the team that decides not to match said sheet. So yeah no team is brazen to go that far as 4 1sts but using prospects with picks makes it easier. So if your not offering 2 1sts and high end prospects (NOT DEFENSMEN) your going to have to include Suzuki and or Caufield. Granted it may not be that simple as other things factor into a trade but just basics it’s what the package has to be to land said talent REGARLESS of “character issues” people claim to think he has. I, being a Sabres fan, don’t blame him for the way he’s handled things. He’s lighting a fire to either leave town of under managements arses to kick into gear building a winning combination. I personally think the Sabres should hold onto him and build around him and the 2 young centers in Cozens and Mittlestadt and push from there. But that’s my opinion as an outsider. |
