You have been saying that so many times that the trade will come today - habs88888
Well with all the talk in the weekend I’d guess it was today. But something will happen before Wednesday. Bergevin always trade on summer before UFA. But this was short cause of playoff.. but there’s many holes so things will happen shortly |

It’s going to be Eichel choice at this point. He already want out but next year he’s going to choose WHERE to go. It’s definitely going to reduce the Price. You also have 1 year gone from the contract, the injuries etc etc etc. Else he’s stuck in Buffalo and he’s going to be a sh1tty captain. Not a need in Buffalo at this point.
Of course it’s this year or the price will appear lower lol - MONSTERSofMETALZ
Cant have it both ways.
IF he wants out, he'll need to waive the NTC when team finds a deal worth doing.
OR he spends all his time in Buff. The team will not make a bad trade just because he wants out. That would be dumb.

When a player wants out. He doesn’t do much for the remaining time. At least rarely, see Dubois. Although they got lucky, another player on the other team wanted out and got Laine.
If let’s say the Devils calls for Eichel but he doesn’t want to go there, he won’t waive. Yea he will keep with Buffalo but that’s no way a good relation, it’s usually toxic. I don’t see how Buffalo are going to win this if they don’t trade him this summer.
He probably will have a small season with all theses players off and an injury. will keep him falling down in price. That’s how I see it |

Bergevin will acquire Eichel and establish an NHL doctor-approved timeline for both him and Weber to join the team precisely for game #1 of the playoffs. in the meantime Marc can still spend the Eichel and Weber LTIR money for help on either offense or D, or ideally both. |

If his deal was only a couple years he'd have a lot more leverage.
It's 5 years. He'll waive if he wants out. Or he will wilt. |

I honestly doubt we land Eichel, anything is possible. I just don’t see a scenario where we offer the best price. Sure we can offer KK a 1st plus a prospect or two. Buffalo for sure wants one of Claufield or Suzuki and if that’s the case I’d want to stay away from that at all costs. |

Well I’m not MB but they had talk last year. He also played under Richardson in Ottawa. Rumors does point at this direction. I’d like the move depending the terms and money |

Preferably 5x2. Someone to play with Gallagher on 3rd line and have Poehling centre |

Yea that sounds ideal. Hoffman would add some PP experience as well. |

I agree. But I doubt MB does put Suzuki or Caufield in a deal after theses playoff. MTL farm is still pretty good though so would Rangers part Kakko or Anaheim Zegras for real? I doubt that too so everything could happen. But you’re right, MB rarely overpay anyway |

oh I agree with what you're saying 100%. and if I was BUF's GM of course I'd be asking about Suzuki and Caufield, unless I ultimately gave up on everything because the sabres are just so god damn depressing to watch. that being said, it was more of a silly tongue-in-cheek comment but how sweet would that be though, to know that you have a Weber and an Eichel waiting to jump in for playoff hockey while still being able to add other pieces, thus making your team better for the regular season and improving your chances of making the playoffs. |

I read that JD is going to be at the first day of camp as well. In my opinion JD is our most talented forward this to me is extremely interesting. I was extremely disappointed that he was not involved in our cup run. Imagine a line of JD Suzuki Hoffman sounds pretty damn legit to me. |

Another better option is to get Coleman/Schwartz, both I feel can produce offense and can bring a bit of defense unlike Hoffman |

I know there are many rumors saying otherwise but I really feel Danault is coming back, so they should be fine at the center position. of course I wouldn't be opposed though to the idea of bringing in a more potentially expensive but more offensively gifted centerman, if the deal makes sense for the team.

all the media attention in MTL will now be focused on Logan Mailloux, so if anything happens it'll most likely go under the radar. |

Danault I think it’s a done deal that he is not returning. How close are we in landing Hoffman? - habs88888
We have nothing certain yet with Danault and I'm just using Hoffman as an example of who we should try to target with cap space. I do agree it doesn't look good for Danault, but if not him, I'd rather go hard at Hamilton. If we took Eichel and sent out Drouin I think we'd have around 9.5 million in cap space and we'd still need to sign some of our bottom 6 and ideally 2 good left wingers, and the biggest need a good defensemen to replace Weber, so taking Eichel prevents us from balancing the roster well. |

I’d pass on Eichel! It’s not worth it. Hamilton is another story but I don’t think he’ll come to Mtl. I’d be very surprised. I hope everyone understands that he’s not a physical player. For all the money he’ll get… ???
If I were the Habs I’d try to get David Krejci! He’d be an upgrade on Danault at least offensively, is very good defensively and an above average faceoff man! We’d have a real second line center who produces close to 50 points consistently! 1 to 2 years on the money Danault refused and a bit more. It would give us time to more properly assess KK and Evans. I think KK is a third line center.
For the D after everything is said and done I believe PK will be the last remaining logical RD available that won’t cost an harm and a leg. Savard is a good option but he’s a shutdown guy and he may end up in Winnipeg. We need size, speed, a good first pass and a bomb!
My wish is that the Habs get that without having to sacrifice an important piece! |

I really don’t know if JD will end up taking another leave again here is hoping he doesn’t. He will never reach his potential as a point per game player I feel |
