The Eichel and Suzuki comparison Is funny!!!! Eichel Is a generational star, Suzuki Is a second line center, Why would Eichel want to play In Montreal? Montreal dosen't have the pieces to send to Buffalo.
- Shady1962

Generational? Lol, he is touching elite at best

Suzuki is 3 years younger than Eichel, I can bet you in 3 years he may even be better than Eichel so having Suzuki in the deal is a non starter

2 "solid" D prospects does not get you Eichel's jock strap....
- chugger38

Before or after he sits out next year with back surgery? with a cap hit of 10 million??

The moron is back ---shocker--- a Montreal thread and guy who cheers for a franchise that Bettman set up perfectly chimes in--- classic.

God Montreal lives rent free in your pee brain.

Lol. I think it’s the other way around buddy. You get so upset at anything I post it’s hilarious.

I'm likely in the minority but, I'm not a big Eichel fan. Something about him rubs me the wrong way. The guy is a talented player but, the packages that it seems to take for Buffalo to let him go are comical. I wouldn't give up some of those packages for McDavid, much less head-case Jack.

I’m curious who your source is Ek? Other insiders have quoted management as saying neither Suzuki or Caufield have been part of the possible Eichel discussion.

Suzuki’s vision is off the charts for his age. He just finished only his sophomore season (has yet to play a full year due to COVID), is actually Montreal’s #1 center, and has posted solid numbers despite being primarily a playmaker on an offense-starved team.

He completes passes that nobody else would even think about and has a surprisingly lethal shot. He is already very good and may just become elite. Oh yeah, and he’s already very good defensively with plenty of penalty kill experience.

Anyone who isn’t high on Suzuki hasn’t watched him play much.

Eichel would not ever make it in Montreal.

A lot of Eichels teammates have left the team this week, maybe it’s because of Eichel. Maybe he’s not the leader people think.

And this is the 2nd playoffs in a row where Suzuki has shown up and been very noticeable: on the stats sheet and to the eye.

I always think that's a portend of good things to come, when a young player can be so noticeable when the stakes are the highest.

I would love some of what you are smoking lol Eichel is Elite not a generational talent, he’ll never touch McJesus Crosby or Kane’s jogstraps, McJesus carried a tesm to the 2nd round before and the other 2 know how to win in important games with 3 cups each. Eichel is a good player but he’s definitely not an Icebreaker. What has Eichel done other than get injured every year and moan?…I’ll wait

Generational talent --- are you serious??? what makes him that-----plus waiting on back surgery with a cap hit of 10 million ---ouch

Generational talent-- Connor, Matthews--- please do not put Eichel with those guys

- bigmacdaddy

You think Austin Matthews is generational?

I just assume keep Jack so people remember he is way better than everyone else unless your name is mcdavid, Bergeron, Crosby, Malkin, Mackinnon or kucherov. He is in that category, so keep him and remind people. Eichel is just pissed we wasted the first 5 years of his career and he is correct. We owe Jack a flipping apology, anybody would be pissed off

As a Sabres fan, I'd say Suzuki, Caufield, a prospect and a first or walk away. Too close to home for Jack unless we get a haul.....

A lot of people will be surprised when Eichel tears up the league after the trade and he is healthy , which he will be . Few players would have did as well as he did in Buffalo . I would not be surprised if he hits 110 points and is in Selke conversations .

Back surgery ?? it's his neck

Agent said yesterday
He's back skating and is fine

He never needed surgery
Ploy to be traded

Which brings up another question

Yeah, the guy has played on some bad teams with hardly any help and still produced at almost a point per game pace.

Eichel in dutch translates to idiot. He has burnt his Buffalo bridges and wants out of this terrible franchise. 99 didn't bring in a great haul, so why should Eichel? What Buff wants and what they get is two different stories. He should get a return offer for maximum three players. A center, a draft pick and a good prospect.
For MTL that would be KK, next years first and maybe a defensive prospect or a center prospect as well. But with the draft in MTL next year trading a first is not in the cards without a very very high return.

This would be a dumb decision.

First it’s one of our fiercest rivals.

Second this would take us out of the running for Wright or Savoie next season and Bedard, Michikov or Fantilli. All 5 of these players will be better then the two players from Montreal.

Jesperi is very underwhelming and seems more like a middle six guy. Suzuki is good. I like him.
