Years ago one of those douchebags from The Jersey Shore tv show was on Howard Stern and he said he made girls sign something before he banged them. |

I mean he's at least smart haha. Smart douchebag. Tons of those girls would definitely just bang them to get some money. That's the (frank)ed up part, girls that target to get money and take advantage of a serious situation. |

The problem is that when the girl is found to be lying, she just doesn’t get money. No other repercussions. |

They do and makes it much harder for women who really do suffer sexual assault to make legit cases. The reality is that the women who make up poop is a very small %, but it has a large effect on why many women don't come out in the first place. |

Virtanen is a rapist. Someone’s sexually assaulted wife and/or sister would not want this organization to be the one to give him a second chance. Leave it for Chicago or Montreal. |

Personally, I'm not going to judge Hextall on this draft for a bevy of reasons:
1) Inherited a mess of a situation from JR.
2) Pre-covid this was said to be a weak draft.
3) Covid made evaluating these players very difficult, so combined with #2 that makes everything even more of a gamble.
4) The trade market was obviously a lunatic asylum this year, so attempting to acquire more picks was likely very tricky.
I think this draft was in general a gamble for many teams. - Rinosaur
5) He didn't have enough picks to judge him on. Hope the 2nd and 5th hit. |

Oilers don't qualify Kahun or Khaira. One day some writer needs to do a deep dive into the stink on Kahun. |

This was a comment he made in an interview when he was traded to Buffalo
“Hockey’s always fun for me, but obviously with the different tactics and all the different systems, the system in Pittsburgh … I had to do other stuff,” he said. “So here the hockey’s more fun for me again.”
Obviously this leaves a lot open to interpretation, but given his production and number of teams, he just screams impossible to coach. Everyone wants to go out and try to score, but unless you are a true top 6 talent, you better play some defensive game. He just doesn't do that. |

He cut Khaira loose, so all his decisions aren't bad. Just wait until the Pens sign him.

Weirdest thing is now under the radar it is. The NHL makes a pretty huge deal out of anyone that has perceived character issues, but Kahun seems to just quietly get shuffled along with no story. All we heard coming out of Pitt is that maybe he didn’t like to play defense that much so Sully might have wanted him moved, but that’s all we heard and it was nothing definitive |

Euros that aren’t top 6 never really stick. GMs would rather have a good ole Canadian boy or a guy named John Smith fill the role. |

He would probably sign him if he didn’t blow all that cap and Duncan Keith just to watch Larsson sign a really fair deal with Seattle. |

Guilty until proven innocent. Hope you become a high-ranking federal judge one day there, sport.
Look, I'm not a victim shamer, and I do think that things like this happen somewhat often and gets settled without court or media coverage. That said, if a woman gets into a guy's car and accompanies him to his hotel room...what in the (frank) is she expecting to happen? I'm not saying it's okay if it turns out she's telling the truth, but she's also incredibly naive to expect anything different.
It's not the same thing at all, but it reminds me of the time when old man Jagr slept with an 18 year old supermodel and someone thouhgt that Jagr would pay money to keep it under wraps...because no 43 year old man would want that information floating around. #Legend. |

Perhaps I missed something on the Virtanen story, but the only "charge" that I'm aware is a claim that has been made against him by a woman who filed a civil lawsuit. In other words, I'm not aware that he has been charged with any criminal activity as a result of this incident - not rape, not sexual assault, or anything else along those lines. If that's incorrect, please let me know. If that's correct, then this is a claim where one person wants another person to pay money and, perhaps, get a public apology in the process.
As a lawyer who has been defending civil suits for more than 30 years, this matter will likely end up with a payment in exchange for a full and final release with a confidentiality clause. Although I can't speak for the number of cases that go to trial in British Columbia, in Florida, at least, 90-95% of lawsuits are settled. And in cases involving a high profile defendant, nearly all of them require the claimant to sign a confidentiality agreement, which they all sign - readily. So, if this matter is ultimately resolved out of court, most of us will probably never know the resolution. |
