aren't going to qualify winger Ryan Donato, a restricted free agent with arbitration rights. $1.9M AAV last season, and becomes an intriguing UFA.

Maybe Jones isn’t definitely be traded but I think the Nemeth signing definitely spells the end of Hajek

Yup. Talk about an ultimate team player. Smith is that guy.

Overall I really liked Smith's time here. I was hoping he'd be back. Oh well.

I think this is correct.

Also, with Hartford having a full season and assuming the Rangers are still serious about building it up, there's nothing wrong with having a bunch of talented players on ELC's who play big AHL minutes and get called up when their play justifies it. Just because guys don't make the opening night lineup or project there in the next 12-18 months doesn't mean they have to get traded.

You got to figure this whole Eichel mess will be resolved by Wednesday right? The teams that are interested really can't afford to be players in free agency with his 10 million cap hit. But also you can't just wait and miss out on possible targets in case he isn't traded to your team. Risky business to try to hope to trade for him pass this first round of free agency

I’m so sick of hearing they did it for cap room also, they have plenty of cap space right now. Do u see Tampa just giving away guys on their roster bc they’re OVER the cap? No, they’re waiting for the right deal/opportunity to make a trade. The Buch trade has rookie mistake by Drury written all
Over it. We replaced a 1st line winger with a 2022 2nd that’s 4 years away from playing in the NHL and a 4th liner, terrible trade.

Tampa traded Goodrow to the Rangers for a seventh round pick. That is the quintessential definition of giving someone away because they are over the cap.

But not the "banquet" year. That slowed him down.

He was an UFA, they traded his rights, not the player. Better luck next time

A trade of two guys who couldn't get picked in an expansion draft.

I would love to hear back from people who understand hockey! How bad did the Rangers seriously screw up here??

First off the screw up started with Sather still having Dolans ear. They fired two guys who know more about hockey than Sather ever will! Gorton built the Stanly Cup Champs Bruins and JD helped put together the Stanly Cup Champs Blues!!! The only thing Sather has done is destroy the NYR like Tump did to America!!!! Gorton made some great deals getting us players like Mika and Fox for example and JD sure had his hand in on getting us Panarin! They were building from the top down in lines before the crying started about we were not tough enough. First off you don't build from your 4th line up you start from the 1st line down! Jeff and JD should have never been fired, I do get the Rangers were affraid of loosing Drury but they should have retired Sather moved JD to Sathers spot and Gorton to JD spot and made Drury the GM!

Sam Woo? Is that you?

With regards to Jack Eichel I know most people who understand hockey knows we do not need him! We do not need a seriously injured player with a neck injury and someone who is bad in the lockerroom!!! We just got rid of a cancer and we do not need another cancer in our lockerroom!!! He is not worth the 10M cap hit for the next 5 years! We already have rock starts who can put the puck in the net we just needed to get a little tougher and harder to play against! Dylan Larkin would have been a much better player to aquire with a 6M cap hit for the next two years and would have cost us nothing compaired to what gambling on Eichel would have cost us!!!!

Trading Buch was butt f ing stupid!!! You not only pissed off your core players on your own team but you gave a guy away for nothing who has only improved through his time with the Rangers. His defense got better, his checking got better,. sticking up for players got better and he is one of our leading scoreres!!!! WTF???? They should have signed him long term to a 5.5M deal NOT trade him for a nobody and a second round pick!!!!!

With Sather back in the picture he will destroy everything Jeff and JD had done!!! Now it looks to me it will be another 40 years before we win a Stanley Cup!!!!!

Good guy, but having a career defenseman as a 4th line forward was exactly the issue with our bottom 6

Wow even the fancy stat nerds love the Nameth potential signing. It’s so strange not seeing everyone hate who the rangers get

Ive been pushing the Dvorak thing for a while… however, is there an interest in Monahan? Someone mentioned it the other day. I think we all kinda forgot about him. Months ago when it was all new we talked about him and Lindholm for a bit.
