I feel caution is needed. Strome is the odd man out for change of style down the center. But in reality, there are A LOT worse centers than there are better centers than Strome. So the right fit and right player is the key. Meaning rushing to move him would probably yield a worse result. Even if the guy is more physical. - NYRCeph
It's also worth keeping in mind that Strome is a professional and Gallant might be able to shape his play a bit more than Quinn did

Getting rid of Strome after 2 career years playing with Panarin (2 career years for Panarin too) reminds me of when Jagr had his 54 goal season playing with Nylander but Sather got greedy and cut him for Gomez and Drury because “anyone can put up points playing with Jagr”…. But they didnt…. So rookie Dubinsky played with him til he bolted to Russia.
Sometimes you gotta leave a good thing alone |

But the reality is the rangers have been trying to move Strome for 2 off-season now. I am just ready to rip the bandaid off now then wait for next off-season when he leaves as a ufa |

I'm confused why the Bruins wouldn't qualify Nick Ritchie - jimbro83
My guess is he wants to much money. If we could get him on a 2-3 year deal, slightly over pay on the AAV, maybe around 3 I’d do it. He was on pace for 21 goals this year, still young at 25 can hit and fight. If u take out his rookie year he’s averaged 35 pts per season and right around 38 points per season over the past 3 years. |

More the reason to sign him. Kreider Goodrow Ritchie, that’s a rough 3rd line. |

I don't know no matter what he is gone in a year, don't think there is really much caution needed. Just don't see any way Rangers sign him long term as a UFA. Getting something for him now is a bonus lol - TPC
Oh I fully agree with NOT signing him long term. Never a question. I just want the right player and not the wrong player signed to a long term contract. We've dealt with too many of that poop. |

Bruins page seems to think he’ll get closer to $4M and that’s why the team walked away. Can’t blame them if that’s the case. |

With so many guys on the market maybe there will be a quantity issue (too much) and salaries will be down. I think Nick Ritchie is a sub human but I wouldn't hate it. |
