I'm confused, what did people think Buchnevich was going to get?

it's literally exactly what I expected

I'm with you, Jim.
I don't have any idea what people expected to be different. Or, how this has any bearing on the fact that he was the odd man out.

Agree. Might just be the fact that it’s actually official. Likely would have softened the blow if he got over $6M.

Right

And like everyone has said, it’s not the cap hit today…it’s the cap hit next summer.

People cant deal with the return.

But theres nothing you can do when the market isnt there other than get the best deal you can make for the better of the team.

Hearing #Canes are closing in on an agreement with UFA D Tony DeAngelo.

Not done yet. But expecting a 1-year deal. There was lots of interest and the opportunity to play for Rod Brind'Amour was appealing.

In division, am sure that didn’t hurt Carolina’s chances

My blog gave my view, it hasn’t changed. What i could and should have added is that Krieder’s contract, which i was a proponent of when signed and we didn’t know about the pandemic and flat cap, helped push him out of town. If Kakko and/or Kravtsov struggle, who is a top six right winger?

If Kakko fails. We have a serious problem. It’s one of worst draft picks in history then.

When you struggle you play through it. Your coach, captains and locker room guys get behind you and keep you pushing. All anyone can ask of you is to give it 110% on the ice. If the points arent there, do the little things. Play defense, be a nuisance, be noticible.

Id laugh if after all this the Rangers ultimately trade spare parts for Eichel.

Of course. But, I don't think we have seen anything to suggest that will happen.
Kakko got poop on for not scoring more this past season, but anyone who watched him play has to admit that he was far better than he was a rookie overall. No reason to think the points won't come when he's playing full time in the top 6.
And anyone who watched Kravtsov's debut and doesn't expect big things from him I don't care to try and educate anyway. The guy made exciting plays almost every shift with Howden, Rooney and PDG as his most common linemates. We shouldn't expect him to slip when on a line with Panarin and Strome.

I think the coach turn over is because of the kids underperforming for the most part so far. Gallant should get them all going more consistently. What he’s going to do, that Quinn didn’t do, is keep lines together for a period of time. In Vegas, Karlsson-Smith-Marchessault (spelling? Lol) are still playing together even when Gallant isn’t there anymore.

They have to let Kakko develop chemistry with two players and let them stay together. Under Quinn, he was juggled more on the forward lines then a clown juggles his balls haha

I mean they are kids, there will be struggles. However, they are both top 10 picks, at some point they have to pass muster in the league.

I know this might sound a bit nuts, but if Strome is not moved out, could this role be Goodrows? Considering the past couple seasons we've seen Fast and Blackwell play a role of defensive forward in the top 6, I'm not sure it's as ridiculous as it sounds on paper.

I could see it. But I do think Goodorows signing was penciled in as the 3C. Maybe after all this Eichel non sense ends, Chytil ends up getting the number 2 spot lol Strome has to be the one guy left they move imo

Okay, working on some stuff. Biggest one is probably Landeskog...hearing 7x7 is on the table, and there are discussions about the possibility of eight years. We will see where this goes. There are others who want him.
