Maybe they’re guna trade Fox for a HAUUUL. His trade value will never be higher and Nils can take his role over.

Just kidding, kinda.

Im convinced the offer is decent but its definitely not crazy.

Im sure the foundation of the trade is prob a 1st, Chytil & Nils, and not much more.

The thing is, even if the trade is accepted, Im sure the team doctors will review the medical records to determine finalization. Trade “pending physical, medical evaluation”.

The Rangers from the start, had made it known to Buffalo that Nils and Schneider are 100% not available in any deal for Eichel; if not possibly also for most other NHL players of some top stature.

Fox will literally not play for any other team so its not even worth kinda thinkin about
- aecliptic

Ya I know, I’m joking. And I wouldn’t want to trade him, but his looming 9 million a year is scary

Julian Brisebois does it again.
Tyler Johnson and a 2023 second rounder to Chicago for Brent Seabrook, who will go on LTIR and help clear up their cap issues.

I just don’t understand how 1 won’t be traded by the start of next season. Trouba has a full NTC and Fox isn’t going anywhere. Last I checked there’s only 3 defensive pairs.

I said we should’ve taken Johnson for a pick a few days ago, damn.

Why should Fox's $9M likely new annual AAV after the coming season be "scary?"
You should be very happy we finally have another Norris Trophy winner here, who deserves to be paid like one. That especially so for you wanting so desperately in many of your posts in the past, some top other very expensive pieces, with one being some forward named Draisaitl to become a Ranger.

$5 mil for each of the next three years, unsure I would have done that

Well its certainly not Schneider cause Ive seen numerous reports that any deal that included him was immediately shut down.
- aecliptic

Don’t believe everything you hear. Stuff gets leaked for negotiation tactics. If the Rangers get Eichel I am 100% sure Schneider is in the deal.

They will worry about that before the pertinent time arrives when knowing Schneider for one top defensive prospect is fully NHL ready. But Fox will never be the d'man leaving in any trade due to selling on backline strength in depth.

You might be right but I think the newer ranger regime is higher or Nils then Schneider.

See my reply above made to "aecliptic" at 10:27 pm. as per earlier word made known by the Rangers to Buffalo on any deal in exchange for Eichel as per Schneider & Nils. That may hold as well for them if interested in acquiring any other top players who in contrast to Eichel, aren't currently in need of neck surgery, or treatment for any type of injury condition at all.

Why would even a first time GM with minimal NHL GM experience be willing to include one of his top 2 defensive prospects in a trade to acquire the uncertainty with Eichel; without also first receiving any medical report history including diagnostic tests taken on his injured neck, for which he also wants initially to undergo surgery for, which would sideline him for 6 months.

To boot, there is no way that even one in Drury, who was taken by St. Louis GM Doug Armstrong in the Buch trade to them, would bring in Eichel's $10M AAV for 5 years given their cap restraints after next season. Drury would be taking a chance to initially see if he performs well starting likely by February for just a few months. Next, unless Eichel removes it from his current contract, Drury would also be acquiring his NMC which would otherwise take effect the start of the following 2022/23 season; should he still be able to play the game at normal 100% level, if at all.

I disagree. I just think Nils is a little more NHL ready being he was drafted 2 years before Schneider.

I’m sure they’re high on him. If thinking like how the Rangers are thinking, building a big physical nasty team, don’t u think they’d prefer 6’2 210 lb Schneider who plays that type of game and is very good offensively on top of that vs 5’10 174 lb Nils who plays soft and isn’t very good in his own end?

Thank you TPC for notifying me of my error, of which I originally meant to say, "ONE of his top 2 defensive prospects", instead of the word, "BOTH:" as per your initial reply to me in mentioning Schneider to be included in a possible deal for Eichel. I edited that word in my initial comment above.

With Nameth, Lindgren and Trouba half of the defense is pretty damn tough already. I am not saying trade Schneider but if he gets you Someone like Eichel then yea I am Doing it.

Nils may have been drafted 2 years earlier, however Nils has also never played on North American ice.

Im trading Nils long before Schneider. I will take the well rounded defenseman with size and leadership qualities over a, small, one-dimensional defenseman any day.

To put it this way, Ill take a Shea Weber over a Erik Karlsson 10 out of 10 times.

And if it came down to it and Buffalo wanted Nils I would do the same. But my point is I am not rejecting a Eichel trade if they demand one. And with JD no longer here and some of the moves being made I think they may rate nils higher at this point.

Lindgren and Trouba are tough, but they’re not that big. Look at Tampa the Isles VGK MTL’s D (the last 4 playoff teams). Come playoff time you need big physical defenseman. Not smaller softer guys that can make tic tak toe passes but can’t push a guy out of a crease. And dont take that as I don’t want Trouba or Lindgren, I love both of them and don’t want either going anywhere. I just think we need to build up that defensive size and I don’t think having 2 guys that are 5’10/5’11 is doing that.
