Dahlin is nowhere close to a 8mill a year player. - SABRES 89
I'm with you on this 89
The strategy of signing guys long term isn't the answer, worrying about losing players who aren't living up to their potential is far more dangerous. I'm one of the biggest Samson fans but let's be honest about his upside and why he had a good yr this past season.
#1 He played first line minutes at Center with Jack out, he was the go-to guy, Power Play, Top line wingers, etc.,
I really like his game around the crease, he is productive and stays healthy.
He is not physical at all - He is not Fast - He has an average shot - He is not a powerful presence on the ice.
He is a quiet, get the job done, perfect 2nd line winger or 3rd line Center without good Penalty Kill abilities. He is a limited but valuable player.
That is why we received a 1st Rd Draft pick, and a Truly Promising Goaltender for his "Negotiating Rights!"
He's worth 6mx6 on a team that uses him correctly with physical players on his line.

with the flat cap there is so much we could be doing this year if we werent the worst.
Signing Suter
Traded for Buchnevich
Signing valued 3rd and 4th liners - Haula and Cizikas
With this flat cap, its easier than ever to improve teams in the NHL, and here we are fighting for last again. - Mentalorgasm5
Agreed. I said a month or so ago that they could build a playoff team within 2 years if they are competent enough.
Although my belief in Cozens is a lot higher than yours. |

Sounds like all we had to do was commit to Reinhart long term, we should have done that. I wouldn't go anymore then 6 a year for Dahlin. |

Adams pretty much said as much. Don't expect much on Wed. - Powerslave
I'm not expecting a ton, but they will overpay at least 1 veteran defenseman with ties to the USA hockey program.

GM's think Adams will blink but he won't, we will see. They want Rossi. - SABRES 89
To this day I still can’t believe we didn’t take him in the first place.

Don’t be shocked if they try to bring back Montour if there isn’t a big market for him.
He liked Granato and the Sabres could use a middle pair RD - sbroads24
That's a very good thought.
Florida is probably going to be tight on the cap.
Montour looked good under donnie |

I feel like he is worth more than a Boldy, Rossi, and 1st, but no one is willing to pay.

Looks like we have a winner in the Jack Eichel sweepstakes. I’m being that the LA Kings and Buffalo Sabres are putting the finishing touches on a trade centered around Eichel and Alex Turcotte. Stay tuned. @TheAtlantic

We agreed on Eklund, I’m afraid we don’t agree on Cozens though.
Hard not to see him realistically becoming a 60 point pivot that is an absolute beast in both transition and possession. |

McCabe was my thought earlier, 24 brought up montour.
That could work. Overpay him a bit.
Both kinda have either an 18 game losing streak stench and being broken often.
Nick is perfect = Brian gianta
Foligno is royalty or at least should be. |

Eichel “promoting” his “injury” isn’t. Healthy Jack, is… who are the 5th, 6th, and 7th best centers in the league. That is what a healthy jack is worth.
Jack playing his injury card in the open like he has, put teams in a gun-shy state. |
