Sabres will take Turcotte but Byfield has to be there and the Kings won't move him so Adams hangs up. |

The strategy of signing guys long term isn't the answer - MEBSabresFAN
You are a crazy person. The Sabres entire problem for going on 20 years is the lack of this. Giving contracts to the wrong players and not locking up the right ones long-term. |

Why though…. aren’t we “rebuilding” again?
I think we need to accept that it’s gonna be a lot of losing these next couple years as the kids grow up & develop |

I haven't checked in for so long! Not sure what I was expecting but a pointless vaccine debate seems about right.
I am actually super positive about this team. Yes they are starting over, but you can't let the number of times they have started over deter you if it is in fact the right move. You hire a creepy manipulative soccer guy as coach, you have to redo it. Over and over again until you get it right.
Ultimately, the sabres failed Jack and Sam. Failed them by not surrounding them with a winning team, but more importantly failed them by not surrounding them with a leadership group to teach them how to be leaders themselves. But drafting high is still a great way to get good.
The sabres also really failed to develop prospects. They threw away extra picks for do-nothing veterans, they made bad draft picks, and they botched the development of young guys like Pilut and Mittelstadt. But accumulating prospects and picks is still the right way to grow your team.
Ultimately, we have no promise the team won't do it all wrong again. The same people own the team, the GM is still probably a longshot to succeed, and the coach isn't a legend or anything. There is a great chance they keep messing it all up. But for the first time in 3-4 years, there is actually hope, because they finally stopped trying to put band-aids on fatal wounds.
Owen Power, Rasmus Dahlin, Henri Jokiharyu, are still as good of a trio of young defensemen to build around as any team can have. Cozens, Mittelstadt, Quinn, Ruotsoleinan, Asplund, Thompson, and Olofsson are less impressive, but a trade of Eichel will add the one or two elite forward prospects to make this a fantastic group. Lukkanen and now Levi gives us some future depth in goal for the first time in a long time.
Anyway, feel free to resume ranting about Trump and Cole Beasley. Just sharing some rare optimism for this team I am feeling for the first time in years. - matty12345

It’s not a coincidence that the counties dealing with rapid increase of delta-variant and low vaccination numbers are the same counties that voted for Trump twice.
Low-income, limited secondary-education, generally low standardized test scores are all hallmarks of these same counties. So, one could easily draw the conclusion that people with limited means and low-intelligence don’t get vaccinated and also support former president Trump. - jimmy mcnaulty

OR - if you are so against getting the vaccine, know the consequences and make your decision from there. Like it or not, this is still America, and you have the right to choose in this scenario. - atlsabsfan
They should have the right to choose but a simple vaccine shouldn’t prevent anyone from working; no matter the job. |

Still think Cozens had 53 points in 57 games during his draft year...? |
