Oh yea, set. I must have fell asleep and missed the ascension and coronation of the Flyers as league hierarchy. Didn't realize that they're set. They didn't keep all of their good young players. As far as going all in, you aren't following the conversation. - MJL
they kept all their good young players.....fact

Clearly Fletch doesn't give a (frank) anymore... Jack Johnson, Luka Sbisa, Codi Ceci, Luke Schenn, bring 'em all on board, let's go! |

Fletcher is just doing what he has to do to keep his job. I don't blame him.

If the Flyers are smart, they put players like Frost and York in the lineup and leave them there. Unless they're completely overwhelmed, which I don't think will be the case. - MJL
Hate to break it to you, but the Flyers very clearly are not smart.
There may be some smart people in the organization, but nobody's listening to them anymore. |

All messing around aside. Schenn has won the cup. And recently. So serviceable still. |

tell me what stellar young player they lost? And how you can justify they are good? Patrick, awful. Meyers, more bad games than good. Horrible last year. Hagg, easily replaceble. They lost no one that moves the needle thats for sure. So you saying we are setup to fail (not a quote, because i know you will try to correct me, but that was the jist) because we are getting rid of our good young players is total hyperbole, and just flat our wrong. We havent lost any of our good young kids, and made our team much better.

Of the Flyers current prospects, including players that haven’t reach the rookie game amount, who are your favorites? Who are you most excited to see play for the Flyers (hopefully)?

Attard, and Forester for sure, and DEsnoyer looked good last year, i only saw 3 games, but i liked what i saw. I have doubts about Brink, i hope he can turn it around. |

I think Atkinson will be good for brink. Wisdom with his season last year. Tyson just due to the cannon. O brien just to see how he’s developed and the new Samu. Glad we finally drafted someone who has breakaway speed. |

Anyone else take a little comfort in knowing that….even if we lose instead of watching ghost avoiding checks Risto will be leveling people. |

i do, hes my kind of player......hope he does well here and we resign him

Yup, and he was a high 2nd round pick, and BTW, this or something like this happens with most picks, which is why its silly to lament trading one now and then to get an actual good player in here! - jd250
Every nhl ~have to build through the draft
Flyers fan~ Tried to give example of something happening to higher draft pick failing to justified picks vs players arguement but ACTUALLY makes a stronger argument for not getting rid of picks and needing more picks.

I don't disagree, however I wonder if we have enough in our bottom 6. Right now potential lines could be:
Couturier - Giroux - Atkinson
Hayes - Farabee - Konecny
Frost - JVR - Laughton
Laczynski - Allison - Lindblom
Extras: NAK, Ratcliff
I would say Frost and Laczynski are unknowns right now. I suppose the Flyers can start the season with them and see how they do, and then if needed make a trade for a center, but you have to at least acknowledge there is potential hole here at either 3C or 4C.
As far as thinking this is not a cup team, I really don't want Fletcher to have that attitude coming into the season. The Flyers have all the ingredients to be a real cup contender, experienced coaching, a good goalie, a really good defense now thanks to Fletcher's trades, and a very deep forward group. I'm all for giving some kids a chance, but if they falter I want Fletcher to go all in on bringing in a player that can really solidify this group further and enable the Flyers to seriously contend. - jd250
Oh that explains it all. You don’t know coots is a center and farabee is a wing. It all makes sense now |
