Chuck said the team never smiled last year, and then goes sign sam, cam, risto. All of whom have a great attitude and are all happy. Chuck has their personalities figured out now, something ron never got to.

I’m calling it. This team is going all the way. Everything is going to click. The mix of young, prime, and veteran players is Gonna happen. They are going to get hot at the right time. Youth is going to take a step forward. The veteran players are going to hold down the tough minutes. And when the team needs them most G and Coots are going strap this team on their backs and carry them to the finish line. Flyers win the Cup!

It’s more fun to believe.

Looking at Morin's contract history, he has been treated extremely well monetarily by multiple administrators of the Flyers. They gave him one-way contracts to keep him in house, when the potential was questionable at best, including this new deal.

I like what I see of him as a person. I like his story. I like his raw physical tools. I like that he gives everything he has, every time he as a chance to earn camaraderie his teammates.

I wish he was more talented, and understood the game better. I wish he didn't get hurt so many times, and badly, when he was young.

This is probably the end of the line for him as a Flyer, but the organization has done more than good for him. I hope he can provide a couple of more sparks before his time here is done. He certainly works hard enough for it.

Yea, that was the issue, Hextall didn't figure out the personalities. The things you read.

yup, if ronnie knew, he wouldnt have got rid of hartnell. The cap was irrelevant at the time, he was trying to gather younger kids was his focus. Like Rubstov and patrick lol

What do you mean by they gave him one way contracts to keep him in house?

Bad wording for the sake of brevity, and forgetfulness. I don't think he necessarily earned his last contract by his talent or track record. My same forgetfulness, vaguely remembers a couple of times that he could have been waived, and wasn't seemingly to protect him despite other depth at the time that was arguably of similar quality. Last year mostly, but I have a foggy memory of thinking it should have happened before, I could be wrong, but I'm not interested in digging that far into it.

At one point there was a market years ago. I also remember Montreal being talked about as a landing spot for him.

Regardless they kept him, they've paid him. He's may have sparked a couple of teammates, maybe not. The sentiment of my post still stands as far as I'm concerned even if I'm wrong on the details of the contracts.

At the start of his previous contract Morin was a group 6 free agent. So even he knew he was not desirable on the market, but the Flyers gave him a one-way ticket.

I totally get what you're saying. They have been good to him and are giving him every opportunity. Not really a bad move. Not much to lose at this point.

On this note I've read it wrong. Group 6 on contract end, not start.

I’d slit hart in at around 4 for 2 years. Others look correct. 2 mil for a quality backup sounds about right.

Hart at most 3 . Why the raise ?terrible last year

because he is good at hockey. I saw NAK hustling all over 2 years ago, you want to give him the ice time.....im done, this convo is ridic.
- bradster

Again cf “ we can’t keep putting out same players expecting different results”

And your god damn right I’ll take a nak that hustles every shift over any player that doesn’t. G hasn’t hustled or played with any real urgency in years. But by all means believe he’s great and deserves his ice time. Status quo fan. He’s the captain and game in and game out I see him late on back check no hustle at all leaving teammates out to dry. Jake too. Maybe Covid seasons his heart wasn’t in it idk but sorry I expect more from the captain. At worst if you’re on the ice fans or no fans give me the effort. I don’t ask for much more

And literally top ten in the NHL for Goals above Replacement.
- MBFlyerfan

What??? Bee had 20 goals last year. G had 16. Neither were top 10 in league. Not even close. And how much time on pp1 did bee get?

That 3rd line is awfully young. Swap bee and g. I actually think g/ frost /? Could work some. G can protect frost and teach him some and allows the stud bee to play big minutes with top line

Funny and true, and you are adorable MJL. Don't let anyone tell you different. Your constant positivity and eye for minutiae and looking for someone to say a wrong word so you can jump on it is truly a talent. Keep up the good work.
