I think Tkachuk wants out of Calgary and I would start with Konency as a possible starting offer and move up.

He has one year left at 7M and is definitely getting a raise. TK is locked up at 5.5M until 25-26. I think it would take more than something minor added on as well.

What do you think it would take on top of TK? You said something small.
- hello it's me 2050

Second or third pick. Heck, I’d add Aube-Kubel. I know you’re gonna complain and make a snarky remark regardless

He ticks boxes on paper, but when he gets out on the ice, his gives-a-(frank) meter is usually only dialed up half way. Plus he's so slow and lags so far behind that it impacts your entire team structure on the ice.

Not surprised we totally disagree on the player and his traits.

Me too lol.

Played 110 shows in 2019. In 2020 that dropped to 16. So far this year there have been 27 and we are halfway through the year.

Remember when you said “show me where I said Risto was aging, I’ll wait…l and then I produced your quote? And you had to backtrack and “amend” your statement?

Keep doing you.

Actually, you were proven to be wrong and that you failed to understand what was being said. Nice try. Know what I'm going to get back to doing? Ignoring you!

I am very sorry to read this, man. My personal income has also taken a big hit.

A lot of arts relief groups: national and local, private and government, have come up to try provide some relief. I am sure you must be already aware of the relevant ones, if any, but just mentioning it in case.

Unfortunately, the trend lines for the situation don't look good right now. Vaccine hesitancy here, and vaccine inaccessibility in many parts of the world, have slowed the rate of vaccinations. The virus has mutated much more dangerously and quicker than was thought last year (when it barely did anything). These two together raises the danger that we may be stuck in a bad equilibrium where a significant chunk of the population stays unvaccinated, variants take root among them, then spread, leading to a clusters of shut downs here and there constantly, and huge fear of crowded events.

While there are clear political correlations between those getting the shots and not, recent data suggests that social ties are also very relevant. For example: vaccine hesitancy is high among minorities. Those who receive the shot know several people in their circles who have done so. Those who don't, have few in their circle.

This raises the importance of personal advocacy and taking a stance. People in everyone's social circles must realize that the unvaccinated are not just risking themselves, which they have every right to do, but also the lives of innocent others who they are capable of spreading the virus to.

Hate to break it to you, but the Flyers very clearly are not smart.

There may be some smart people in the organization, but nobody's listening to them anymore.

How do you distinguish between these 2 things:

Flyers mgmt want to win cup, too dumb to take necessary steps.
Flyers mgmt want to win cup, but care more about revenue and brand management. Very intelligent in focusing on latter.

Because it seems to me the two could produce identical behavior.

Ah hello again Journeyman.

Do you remember last year when I was saying culture wars in Canada seemed to be less than the US and you thought I was saying it is low?

Well, we were both correct. A large survey was published this month in the Globe and Mail.

You may or may not believe it, up to you, but it addresses the very issue, and ranks countries. Canada is bad in absolute terms, but among the best relative to others. We are almost the very worst, tied for 2nd worst in the world, and 1st among western countries.

I am not trying to stir anything up. I remembered the discussion and remembered our exchange.
