Because Benning has always liked him. - Marwood
I guess at league minimum it's fine, he can go to the AHL. Aside from that year by year seems appropriate. |

I think the flat cap is excellent for the league. It has been an eventful start to the offseason. |

Still have the Eichel blockbuster and free agency and yet there's already been so many fireworks, I love it |

Why does Luke Schenn need 2 years? - golfingsince
Winning a Stanley cup always gives you that benefit. Beagle got 2 more years and 2 million more per year than he deserved. |

I just remember the footage of Hughes practicing on a line with schenn, or Hughes getting a assist in his first game then getting drilled by Lewis and schenn going in to challenge him after. |

Halifax will have a team within 10 years. - golfingsince
I grew up in Halifax. Family and most friends still there. Visit every year (pre covid).
NHL team? No frigging way.
Why can’t they? Non-existent certain age group with disposable cash to invest in season tickets (Irving can’t buy them all).

Cause Benning will have the team as a cup contender in 2 years. Luke doesn't fit that plan. |

There's a lot more money there than you remember. I go there every week almost and have been to Winnipeg countless times. There's easily more money in Halifax than Winnipeg. |

Jets are dumping picks now lol. |

Some pretty high contracts being signed. So much for getting a grip on overpaying top players |

Silver for Kylie Mosse . So damn close |

Just trade your bad contracts to the Yotes and the Flames.

You may be correct but one of the biggest issues facing the province of NS is there’s no tax base. Very few 30 - 50 year olds making six figures. Most leave for other cities or have lower end paying jobs. Your population are mostly those close to/are retired, or are starting families where income is already allocated.
Most of people I would consider potential ticket buyer in Halifax are already heavily invested in other activities like golf or sailing.
Post covid may change that but I would think they would get a CFL franchise before the NHL. They’ve studied the possibility of a CFL team but even that was financial suspect. |

And on another defensive front, the #NHLJets have/had been trying to make a deal for Nate Schmidt but the latter will not waive his modified no-trade clause despite, what I have been told, is several attempts by the Jets.
Wonder if we could of scored 2 second's outa Winnpeg lol. |

At what point does the league step in? They aren’t even remotely trying to ice a competitive team. - Shuswap Wap
An outright embarrassment to the league. Suck out money, inept at everything else. Move them to Houston. |

The CFL is financially suspect because its the CFL. Toronto can barely sustain a team and there's 5 million people living there.
The questions surrounding Winnipeg acquiring a franchise were always corporate support. Hell, Sobey's could probably handle much of that. Household income is 5K higher in Halifax than Winnipeg and real estate costs less. Utilites are also less as you're aware summers are cooler, winters are warmer.
That's no guarantee that Halifax will have a team but I think they will, people will travel for hockey. I know people from Moncton that would travel at least a half dozen times a year to catch a game. Granted, they earn more than the average person. |
