Let's (frank)ing hope so - NewYorkNuck
I figure QH signs for 4.5x2 and EP signs for 6.5x4 so that would give us roughly 14 mil to sign our RFAs and round out the roster with a couple cheap UFAs and a backup goalie. |

And on the Canucks, I agree Aquilini is a central problem, but Benning is not his puppet, it’s the other way around. Benning is a shameless person, continually making mistakes and managing up. Aquilini is a dumb rich kid who has never done anything on his own, and Benning plays to his fragile ego is my theory (“you can be the one to bring a cup Francesco, don’t listen to all those naysayers!”); I don’t see how Aquilini is pulling the strings as he doesn’t get anything out of this (no way FA says trade all those poopty contracts and get a new one I’ll pay for 6 more years, no way)…Benning costs this team money in buckets and the team’s rep is in the trash. It’s Benning who is the deeply manipulative one here, all about keep his GM job – he’s the only way getting anything out of this - cause he ain’t getting another GM job (although it is the stupid NHL, so you never know), and he has a dim-witted, Fredo of the siblings owner who he panders to, manages up, kicks down. Truly Benning is bad at his job, but he’s also a poopty person, I really believe that…no integrity; (frank) the future I’m going to save my ass…he’d leave his best friend out in the battlefield to save his ass…every (frank)ing time!! - Marwood
This is priceless, so now we have Benning going from dimJim, umm, ahh yeah, it was a tough season and stuff, to a maniacal devious manipulative genius that knows exactly how to screw over a franchise and create an environment to just stay employed.
Might be just a bit of a reach, I think I’ll stick with Benning as simply Dim Jim.

I'm thinking their combined contracts will be closer to 13 mil: 7.25 for Petey and 5.75 for Hughes. Petey isn't signing for less than what Barzal got as they're very similar in production, that's for sure. Plus the recent big D contracts that got handed out aren't keeping Hughe's number down.
Garland will get what, 4-5?
Have to trade Schmidt to free up enough space. |

50% retained and nothing going back? - RealityChecker
That would be a bargoon for a JB managed team. Let’s have a look at Holtby’s cost…
As a one year UFA signing the Canucks paid:
Signing Bonus - $500,000
First Year Base Salary - $2,400,000
Buyout - $3,800,000
Total - $6,800,000
That’s a hell of a price to pay for a backup goaltender on a rebuilding team. |

After all these years of watching Benning do you believe he is capable of being that ingenious and able to manipulate people to that fashion.
Your thoughts, honest question because I know you despise the guy. |

James Neal, Braden Holtby and Martin Jones are all on unconditional waivers. If they clear tomorrow, they'll officially be bought out. |

That’s just the tip of the iceberg. With Lou’s recapture, the Canucks are now paying $6,835,212 for goalies NOT to play for the team in the 21/22 season.

No kidding.
With his massive 21 NHL starts over the course of that contract, he got paid $323,809 dollars a game |

Yes and no. I have a friend in advertising that's dealt with him who labelled Benning both arrogant and dumb. I think Weisbrod is the evil, manipulative one.
Yes, I despise him so I'm willing to admit bias. |

A source close to Marc-Andre Fleury says that the trade is done, and that the Vezina Trophy winner found out through Twitter.

Amazing. How does Aqua put up with it? Are they laundering money through the team? - NewYorkNuck
Yeah i don't get it. Aqua basically guts the entirety of hockey operations last year in a cost cutting measure only to pony up a ton of disposable cash this off-season....
