Are you sure they can talk? I thought they changed it back this year. - VANTEL
oh, didn't read about them changing it back, I thought it was a good rule since it allows everyone to talk to these guys instead of having the greasy GM's getting a leg up on the competition. |
|
|
|
not official, it's the "legal tampering" period, they can talk but not sign and aren't even supposed to talk numbers but everyone does anyway - Nucker101
Was it reported by RD, like he said Holtby had a lot of interest?
Lol |

Pretty sure they changed it back with the new CBA

Hopefully Schenn is buddies with Savard and talk him into coming to pair up with QH - Mungo
Savard, Schen and Myers on the right side would be a decent right side. I think Savard is going to cost about 4.5 x 4 though. |

Fair, but he seems more confident about this one with his wording. Interest is a lot different than "basically a done deal" |

Canucks can put Myers on LTIR for a sprain in his giraffe neck and he won't be ready until playoffs?

Hamonic still might be the better option... would probably come in at half that price and be pretty close in production |

Gotcha, I guess they just have to ask for Tampa's permission then |

I think Hamonic gets 3M per at minimum now that he's apparently open to playing anywhere. |

I think Savard will be a touch too much for the team, unfortunately, unless he really wants to live and play in Van.
I'm not exactly sure where Myers fits right now. I suppose OEL is the best partner for him, but that doesn't seem like the best pairing for top minutes. Hughes and Rathbone are more mobile offensive guys, so Myers is a lesser, bigger version of that... the makeup of the D seems a little awkward |

OV 5 more years at $9.5! - 1970vintage
imo 2-3 years time they will be heading towards a rebuild and this will give the team a reason to give him loads of cushy icetime and fans to attend games during rough seasons |

I'm not buying it. I still think he wants Western Canada.... he's just realized that he can't say that when negotiating a new contract. I'd be surprised if he's not in Vancouver, Calgary, Edmonton or Wpg... all teams have a need for a RHD |

I wonder if they might try to move Rathbone now that they have OEL. Saw a suggestion for Fabbro, not sure the value is right but don't mind the idea of swapping Rathbone for a defensive RD. Ultimately not enough PP minutes to go around for all 3. |

Fair, could definitely be just a negotiation tactic. Edmonton will likely make him a pretty good offer after they lost their defensive RHD in Larsson |

Fabbro struggled in Nashville this year, lost his spot to Carrier in the top 4 down the stretch |

Okay, can't say I've followed him but I imagine there are some other guys that might fit into that category.
Lauzon maybe?
Regardless can't see Rathbone getting a lot of PP reps here. |

I think they're pretty high on Rathbone. He showed very well at the end of last season. I'd say give it a year and see how he works before moving him.
As for PP, Rathbone worked well on the right wall/point if I remember correctly last year. Could go...
PP1: Bo, Petey, Boes, JTM, Hughes
PP2: Garland, Podk, Hoglander, OEL, Rathbone (Bo out for f/o duties)
