I mean it would be in a hurry, during the season we didn’t hear much about negotiations, seems like just recently things have picked up and even then we haven’t heard about anything being close so it would need to pick up quite a bit to progress from that point to getting ink on paper within 24 hours.

Well Canucks obviously feel different than you do. They are trying to get a contract done now to see if he can play on the big club this year if not the AHL.

Also, I don’t believe you can’t offer less or more on NHL deals for ELC’s, it’s a set number, only bonuses are negotiated I believe. I may be wrong on that though

I don't believe the CHL rights can Trump the nhl rights, if the player hasn't played for you. Obviously this would only apply to players who are in Europe or BCHLand the other provincial type junior A leagues and USHLand NCAA..
It boils down to the fact that the CHL could draft/hold the rights of any player that gets drafted.

ELC has min and max dollar amount. What I mean is less on the NHL side and more on the AHL side of the numbers. So instead of 850k NHL and the standard 70k AHL offer 750k NHL and 125k AHL.

Basically the CHL rights are only for if they go into Major Junior. CHL rules only apply after they officially sign a CHL contract. Sounds like he is either KHL or AHL bound. Prob gets more play time and better development in AHL, but close to home in KHL.

I did not know that. I only knew AHL max is like 125k

I figure QH signs for 4.5x2 and EP signs for 6.5x4 so that would give us roughly 14 mil to sign our RFAs and round out the roster with a couple cheap UFAs and a backup goalie.
