Agreed, more than fine to be critical or positive but this market has its fair share of fans that make things personal and operate as of their opinions or views on the future are facts (rather than just opinions). |

Yeah.
Even at his age, i don't think you find a more sericeable player at that pricepoint on the market. - Whiskey-Tango
I agree. My issue like stated previously is they won't give him bottom pairing minutes. If you're going for a cup then you might as well have him as a 6-7 type Dman. |

What? Oh that’s right, you’re young.

Eagles management hired a Santa impersonator to entertain the crowd in their annual Christmas show, but in a season where nothing went right, he never showed up. Team executives looked for a makeshift replacement, and they found 20-year-old Frank Olivo in the stands, already dressed as Santa. It was perfect!
It wasn't perfect. Olivo was thin, and Eagles fans didn't believe for a second that he was the real Santa. They didn't take it well. Olivo was booed, which is actually just how Eagles fans say hello, so fine. To add injury to insult, however, Eagles fans used their resources. Don't give Eagles fans resources. They pelted Olivo with snowballs, in what might be the most infamous incident outside of bottlegate for any fanbase in the NFL. This and batteries tend to be what Eagles fans are the most remembered for in genera

Pius Suter was cut loose because there was a chance that he'd win more than $3.2M in arbitration. Arizona just handed that to Dmitrij Jaskin.
Arizona hopes that Jaskin does nearly as well as Suter this year.
The nuances of hockey politics are great, aren't they?

You realize that the opposite of “critical” isn’t “positive” right? |

I love this story from the article:
Imagine working toward a moment your entire life. You've paid your dues, you had an illustrious college career, and the second it all culminates -- the moment everything comes to fruition -- you get booed by a bunch of know-nothing fans that just wanted a running back. So it went when Donovan McNabb was taken second overall after No. 1 overall pick Tim Couch and before Ricky Williams in the 1999 NFL Draft. It's not like he did much in his career. He only went on to break franchise records in completions, yards and touchdowns and lead the Eagles to perhaps the best stretch in the franchise's history. |

Toxic sports market?
No poop.
They booed Luongo in 2007-08 when he couldn't replicate the season before when he deserved the Vezina.
The same fans chanted for Gillis to be fired a year after delivering back to back president's trophies and a Stanley Cup finals game 7 appearance.
Now we take issue with the sports market because our GM has made the playoffs once since the first year of his tenure?
Yeah it's a tough market, but without a pandemic most people would have decided to go skiing or sailing and not thought twice about it. |

So is every Canadian market. Not quite on the level of “soccer fan” seeing as nobody’s life has been threatened yet, but… you get the picture. |

what about Philly fan attacking Santa Claus? - bloatedhefty
My favourite Philly story has to be the hitch hiking robot that hitched across Canada (and Germany and the Netherlands) perfectly safe, and when they tried it in the US it made it from Boston to Philly where it got destroyed

Bit of a cop out. Don’t you think that OEL’s on ice performance over the past three years is driving the negativity? And if the comeback is “well, he didn’t want to be there anymore, the team was terrible” what does that say about his professional character? When the going gets tough might as well quit!
Or it could be something totally different 🤷♂️ - 1970vintage
Totally different. Your talking about somebody else not OEL. |
