Didn't Yandle take a lot less to play for his hometown favorite Rangers? Then 2 years into his contract they shipped him out.. that should be a lesson to anyone that takes less when they are a UFA. - niteislander
I think Yandle is from Boston. 🤔 |

Its weird watching Larry Brooks write about the isles chances at the cup, and questioning the Rangers rebuild. Def not used to seeing that role reversal. For years the isles were the butt of his jokes, now its the Rangers being sub par |

Who starts every single isles game? Which line is thrown out after every goal against? Who's taking important D zone draws? The formula the isles have is working, and again because they didnt grossly overpay for top 6 guys, they're able to pay for higher talent in the bottom 6.
Whether anyone agrees with this or not, Barry and Lou think they're the isles identity line. - kindlyrick
Don’t try to convince the Fantasy GM’s on here. Everyone of them had the Isles as a dumpster fire after Lou’s horrendous trades and signings for grit a character guys to change the culture and play in Barry’s system. Only to make it to the second round year one ( after the terrible summer s innings ) and 2 consecutive Conference Finals. Not saying 4 million for Casey is the number but certainly agreeing in real hockey there a lot more to building a team than just goals and assists. I think Lou and Barry know what they ‘re doing
I think you and I were equally dumped on for thinking the Islanders would be ok and letting them play a game before predicting doom and gloom. |

Hahaha im not trying to convince anyone, just here for any updates as im not really a twitter guy. I dont think theres any arguing the success of Lou and Barry. Guys were given roles, and its paid dividends. I think Lou Lam has set himself up to address certain needs via free agency (something Snow was unable to do). I honestly think the isles can win the cup this year. |

I don't like long term contracts with players with an injury history. That's my opinion. |

I’d guess that most if not all (except maybe our insider) trust Lou regardless.
But fuuuck 7, we're bored and sitting on pins and needles. Gotta talk about something. |

Really have no idea how Martin’s skill level has anything to do with whether Cizikas or Clutterbuck could be considered third liners but ok time to move on from this one… |

Not me. I hate Lameriello and don’t trust him at all. He hasn’t done anything with this team and there has been no success to speak of.
Sounds stupid doesn’t it? That’s why I stopped bothering a lonnnnnnnnggg time ago. Have fun with that crap |

Almost flew in for game 6, but knew if the isles made the cup, i'd def have to fly back for that, and the tickets were CRAZY expensive. In hindsight, i shoulda gone to the game 6 for the coliseum's fairwell tour. lol |

For the record, I never said Cizikas isn't an important player, or that the team doesn't need toughness or role players, or that the team should completely transform into the Toronto Maple Leafs. I think it's a normal thing to appreciate what a player can do for your team, but to balance that against how much you would pay for that player, taking into consideration everything from age to durability to cap space to other organizational needs.
It's funny that we expect elite goal scorers to take a discount for the honor of playing here (don't they want to be on a contender!?), but not a role player who's spent his whole career here...for him, you have to go north of what the Rangers threw at Barclay Goodrow (which we all laughed at) or else you're a fantasy GM. |

Coliseum was something special during the playoffs. Went to a few games they were all pretty incredible. Where did you move too? |

The missincurfew podcast with Pat Maroon I think it was talking about the isles fans giving the double middle finger whether you're 5 years old or 80 had me dying. So true. |

Yeah it really boiled down to quality of life. My whole family moved. My brother tells me every week he cant believe the house he lives in, in Texas. Same money from Lynbrook to Texas.....literally double the size house |

Yep. There’s really no reason to stay in NY anymore. It used to be a great quality of like in NY. That doesn’t exist anymore. Doesn’t matter where you live there’s no hiding from it. |

I am hearing from at least 3 sources that Beauvillier has requested a trade to the LA Kings to be closer to his beloved.
